Honor America's 250th With Your Friends and NeighborsWe have everything you need to make it a meaningful moment. We've done the work. You gather your people. What are we celebrating? Two hundred and fifty years ago, a small group of brave colonists defied their king and declared an idea not seen at scale for 2,000 years; that government is made of those being governed. That idea became the United States of America. This July 4th, in your community, with your people, you can stand in that arc of history and honor the moment it all began.
Families, neighbors, schools, congregations and chapters, communities large and small, across the states and even Americans living abroad have signed up to stand together at noon local on July 4th and honor the day America began 250 years ago. We have organized everything you need to make it easy. 1. At 11:30am you and your participants gather to a background playlist of great Americana music. 2. Just before noon you are prompted to toll the Freedom Bells -- using the bell player in the App, or your own bells if you have them. 3. This is followed by a very special moment of reflection exploring the words the founders wrote, in language that makes them live again. 4. This is a moment to re-pledge allegiance to the principles we are celebrating this day. 5. Then it time for fellowship and celebration - however you see fit. It has all been put together to make it easy for you to lead a ceremony. It welcomes your own variations and ideas. It takes very little advance planning, and maybe an hour with the App to practice in order to make it your own. There are even red Circle "i" (info) icons in every section to bring up an event leader Guide to help you.
