Η εκδήλωση «Μακεδονία, η επόμενη μέρα» η οποία πραγματοποιήθηκε με εξαιρετική επιτυχία στις 8 Μαΐου 2019, στην μεγαλύτερη και κατάμεστη αίθουσα «Ολυμπία» του Royal Olympic Hotel, στην σκιά της Ακρόπολης, βρίσκεται τώρα και στο διαδίκτυο.

Το International Hellenic Association – IHA, συν-διοργανωτής της εκδήλωσης μαζί με την Ένωση Απόστρατων Αξιωματικών Στρατού – ΕΑΑΣ, δημιούργησε μια ειδική σελίδα αφιερωμένη αποκλειστικά και μόνο στην εκδήλωση «Μακεδονία, η επόμενη μέρα».

Η σελίδα αυτή περιλαμβάνει σε ξεχωριστές ενότητες, μεταξύ άλλων, εκτός από φωτογραφίες της εκδήλωσης, τους χαιρετισμούς των Βασίλη Ροζή, Αντιστράτηγου ε.α. εκ μέρους της ΕΑΑΣ και του καθηγητή Ηλία Σταμπολιάδη εκ μέρους του ΙΗΑ, ένα δεκάλεπτο βίντεο με δηλώσεις προσωπικοτήτων των τελευταίων δεκαετιών για το Σκοπιανό, τις εξαιρετικά σημαντικές ομιλίες των Γεωργίου Ρωμανού, ιστορικού ερευνητή και Περικλή Νεάρχου, Πρέσβη ε.τ. καθώς επίσης και τον χαιρετισμό της συντονίστριας των Παμακεδονικών Ενώσεων Υφηλίου Καθ. Την εκδήλωση «Μακεδονία, η επόμενη μέρα» συντόνισε ο γνωστός συγγραφέας, γεωστρατηγικός αναλυτής και Έλληνας Αξιωματικός ε.α. Σάββας Καλεντερίδης, ο οποίος με την μεγάλη του εμπειρία προσέθεσε κύρος στην διαδικασία της εκδήλωσης, πραγματοποιώντας σύντομες αλλά εξαιρετικά εύστοχες παρεμβάσεις.

The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, issued the following statement today on the results of India’s general election:

“On behalf of the Government of Canada, I congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his re-election.

“Over 39 days of polling, a record number of Indian citizens cast their votes and more women voted than ever before in the world’s largest democracy.

“Canada and India share tremendous people-to-people ties, with over one million people of Indian descent calling Canada home. Our longstanding friendship, together with our shared values, will continue to bring our two countries closer and help create new opportunities for our people.

Prime Minister delivers a statement of exoneration for Chief Poundmaker

Confronting our past and acknowledging our mistakes are at the heart of our journey of reconciliation. We have to share and understand Canada’s history before we can take meaningful steps to build a new relationship with Indigenous peoples for the benefit of all Canadians.

On behalf of the Government of Canada, the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today delivered a statement to posthumously exonerate Chief Poundmaker (Pihtokahanapiwiyin), who was wrongfully convicted and imprisoned in 1885. Prime Minister Trudeau also apologized to members of the Poundmaker Cree Nation for these past wrongs.

During the North-West Resistance of 1885, Chief Poundmaker sought rations for his starving community. He was wrongly accused of looting and then pursued by government troops. Chief Poundmaker did not take part in the ensuing battle, but saved many lives by convincing the community’s warriors not to attack the retreating government troops. The apology and posthumous exoneration of Chief Poundmaker were presented today at a special ceremony held at Poundmaker Cree Nation, on the site of that same battle.

The Government of Canada will continue to work with Poundmaker Cree Nation to address historical wrongs and build a renewed relationship based on mutual respect, cooperation, and partnership.

MR. RICE:  Well, good morning, everyone and welcome to this press briefing on behalf of the International Monetary Fund.  I am Gerry Rice of the Communication Department.  As usual this morning, our briefing will be embargoed until 10:30 a.m., that's Washington time. 

I'm going to make just a few brief announcements, then we will come to our colleagues in the room and take some questions online as usual where many are watching.  So, I will be brief with the announcements this morning.  Just a couple of things for your information, both related to Managing Director Christine Lagarde.

May 29 to 30, that's next week, the Managing Director will be in Mexico City where she will meet with President Lopez Obrador, finance minister, central bank governor and other government officials.  She will also make a major speech at the Mexican Senate. And on May 30 she will participate in a conference organized by the Women's Forum for the Economy and Society.  So that’s Madame Lagarde in Mexico next week.

And then following that, June 8 to 9, Madame Lagarde will be in Fukuoka, Japan to participate in this year's G-20 finance ministers and central bank governors meeting.

And in addition to that G-20 meeting, the Managing Director will deliver a major speech at the G-20 high level seminar on Financial Innovation, Our Future in the Digital Age and that will be on June 8.  And these major speeches that I've talked about will of course be open to you and to all media and we can get you that information.

So, Madame Lagarde in Mexico next week and then going on to the G-20 meeting shortly thereafter.  And around that G-20 meeting we will as usual have you for the G-20, what we call the G-20 surveillance note, our update on the global economy at that time and we will be sharing that with you in a timely way.

QUESTIONER:  Good morning, thank you.  Gerry, may I start with the Ukraine?  There are a lot of talks or a lot of rumors and thank you very much for this opportunity to gather information from the first source. 

Yesterday, Ukrainian media reported according to some government officials that IMF mission is leaving the country.  I know that is not true so could you clarify the status of the mission?  Will it work two weeks in Kiev as it was planned? 

And secondly, I perfectly understand that you never comment on the ongoing talks, but could you tell about the key points for the Ukraine to continue the program?  Key reforms, key changes for the new government and new administration. Thank you.

MR. RICE:  Yes.  Thank you for your question.  What I can -- well, maybe just to step back a little bit for those who don’t follow Ukraine just as closely as you do.  Just a little bit of context.

There is absolutely no reason for the president to play along.” “Congressional Democrats are dangerously close to undercutting U.S. national security for the sake of scoring political points against President Trump. Yesterday’s action “will help ensure that all Americans learn the truth about the events that occurred, and the actions that were taken, during the last Presidential election and will restore confidence in our public institutions,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement. “The New York federal judge who ruled on Wednesday that the Trump administration must comply with two subpoenas from the House Financial Services and Intelligence Committees has donated in the past to a slew of big-name Democrats -- including two who currently sit on those committees, according to federal election filings,” Gregg Re reports for Fox News. “Judges have the option to recuse themselves if there is an appearance of bias,” but Barack Obama-appointed U.S. District Judge Edgardo Ramos chose not to. Pelosi, Dems Just Don't Care About Our National Emergency “Now in the majority with control over the House floor, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her conference are poised to let funding for the Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) program run out . . . First, Pelosi and Democrats denied the existence of the national emergency. Now, they are willing to let federal agencies run out of money to care for migrant children,” Reps. Chip Roy (R-TX), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Jim Jordan (R-OH) write in Fox News. “How bad does it have to get for Pelosi to care?” Click here to read more. Pelosi’s "cover-up" remark is just “part of her now-daily act of political cognitive dissonance in which she accuses Mr. Trump of committing impeachable offenses to appease her anti-Trump ultras while opposing impeachment lest it jeopardize swing-district Democrats in 2020,” The Wall Street Journal editorial board writes. President Trump “has decided to call her bluff and offer a choice—impeachment or bipartisan progress.” “First lady Melania Trump made a special trip Wednesday to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, to meet with ‘wounded warriors’ and present a Purple Heart,” Katie Jerkovich reports for The Daily Caller. “I want to thank the service members I met today,” the First Lady said. “As each of them recovers, we are reminded of the cost of our country’s security. I am grateful.” “A cadre of former top Obama administration figures and their allies in Congress have been working to amplify anti-Trump talking points issued by a senior Iranian regime official in what sources have described as an effort by Obama's pro-Iran echo chamber to drive a wedge between President Donald Trump and his national security team,” Adam Kredo writes in The Washington Free Beacon. Democrats are “doing all they can to subvert Trump, even if it means siding with the Iranian regime in the standoff.” “Two illegal aliens, one who came to the United States in 2015 as part of a ‘family unit’ and the other unaccompanied in 2016, were released by the Prince George’s County Police Department after being charged with attempted first degree murder and other crimes. Upon release, they killed 14-year-old girl Ariana Funes-Diaz and dumped her body in a creek,” Katie Pavlich writes in Townhall. “Prince George's County, which contains Baltimore, is a ‘sanctuary’ for illegal aliens. Both are members of the extremely violent gang MS-13.”

Μετά από 4 χρόνια η Ελλάδα ξαναπήγε στις κάλπες και έστειλε ένα καθαρό μήνυμα. Η Νέα Δημοκρατία αποτελεί, πλέον, την πρώτη και πολύ ενισχυμένη πολιτική δύναμη της χώρας. Ο χρόνος μέχρι την τυπική λήξη της θητείας της κυβέρνησης φαίνεται μικρός, αλλά είναι αρκετός για να γίνει ακόμα μεγαλύτερη ζημιά στη χώρα. Ιδίως όταν διαγράφονται εθνικοί κίνδυνοι, αλλά και νέες απειλές στην οικονομία. Η Ελλάδα έχει ανάγκη από μια νέα κυβέρνηση με νωπή την εμπιστοσύνη του ελληνικού λαού. Που να διασφαλίζει τη σταθερότητα, αλλά και την προοπτική της σε αυτή την κρίσιμη συγκυρία.  Ο Πρωθυπουργός  οφείλει να αναλάβει τις ευθύνες του. Για το καλό του τόπου πρέπει να παραιτηθεί και η χώρα να οδηγηθεί σε εθνικές εκλογές το συντομότερο δυνατόν. Και αυτή είναι τελικά η μόνη καθαρή λύση. Η Ελλάδα δεν μπορεί να περιμένει άλλο, δεν μπορεί να υποχωρεί συνεχώς.  Αγαπητοί μου συμπολίτες, το αποτέλεσμα ασφαλώς και γεννά αισθήματα χαράς στους φίλους της παράταξής μας. Ζητώ από όλα τα στελέχη της Νέας Δημοκρατίας να το αντιμετωπίσουν με αίσθημα ευθύνης, αλλά, πάνω απ’ όλα, με σεμνότητα. Η Ελλάδα έχει ταλαιπωρηθεί πολύ. Δεν περιμένει πανηγύρια, αλλά σκληρή δουλειά. Και κυρίως αποτελέσματα που θα κάνουν τη ζωή όλων των Ελλήνων καλύτερη. Στην καρδιά μου, δεν υπάρχουν κάποιοι που θα τελειώσουν κάποιους. Δεν υπάρχουν πολλοί, δεν υπάρχουν λίγοι. Υπάρχει μόνο η Ελλάδα, υπάρχουν όλες οι Ελληνίδες και όλοι οι Έλληνες. Πάνω απ’ όλα δεν ξεχνούμε ότι πολλοί συμπολίτες μας έκαναν διαφορετικές επιλογές.  Από αύριο, λοιπόν, ξεκινώ έναν καινούριο αγώνα. Θα γυρίσω και πάλι ολόκληρη την Ελλάδα για να πείσω όσο το δυνατόν περισσότερους Έλληνες ότι αξίζουμε την ευκαιρία να οδηγήσουμε τη χώρα σε ένα καλύτερο μέλλον. Συνεχίζουμε τον αγώνα να σταθούμε κοντά σε αυτούς που το έχουν περισσότερο ανάγκη. Γιατί η αλληλεγγύη είναι το θεμέλιο της κοινωνικής συνοχής. Και θα το πράξουμε με τη δύναμη των επιχειρημάτων μας. Μιλώντας πάντα τη γλώσσα της αλήθειας, με αυτοπεποίθηση, αλλά και με αξιοπρέπεια. Δίνοντας έμφαση στα πραγματικά προβλήματα των Ελλήνων. Παρουσιάζοντας και εξηγώντας το σχέδιό μας για την επόμενη μέρα, για το οποίο και θα ζητήσουμε την έγκριση του ελληνικού λαού. Για να κάνουμε μαζί πραγματικότητα την ελπίδα που γεννιέται σήμερα. Σε μια πορεία αναγέννησης της χώρας, από την οποία κανείς δεν περισσεύει.  Τώρα ανατέλλει ο ήλιος  μιας Ελλάδας πιο φωτεινής. Μιας Ελλάδας, που υπέφερε πολύ, υπέμεινε πολλά, αλλά βρήκε τη δύναμη να ανοίξει η ίδια τον δρόμο της για μια καλύτερη ζωή. Ας  υψώσουμε αυτόν τον ήλιο, στην μέση του γαλανού ουρανού μιας περήφανης πατρίδας.  Σας ευχαριστώ και πάλι από καρδιάς για την εμπιστοσύνη σας και την στήριξή σας. Σας υπόσχομαι ότι θα εργαστώ πολύ σκληρά για να την ανταποδώσω».
