The following GAIN reports were released on July 8, 2026. _______ Burma: FDA Issues New Labeling Standards Directive for Pre Packaged Foods Beginning March 12, 2026, Burma has prohibited importers from using stickers to communicate mandatory information on pre-packaged food labels. The revised requirement still allows labeling in English provided mandatory information is clearly and permanently displayed on the original packaging. U.S. exporters are encouraged to coordinate with their importers as the change may complicate the sale of U.S. products in Burma that are transshipped and stickered or labeled in another regional market. This directive has not been notified to the World Trade Organization.   Cote d'Ivoire: Cote d'Ivoire's SELAB 2026 Abidjan Livestock Show - A Prime Opportunity to Highlight American Agricultural and Livestock Export Excellence Côte d'Ivoire's Le Sommet de l’Élevage d’Abidjan (SELAB) Abidjan Livestock Show 2026 presents a compelling opportunity for U.S. agribusinesses and USDA FAS cooperators to engage with one of West Africa's most significant agricultural trade platforms. Despite the Russia-Ukraine war, Ukraine's retail, food processing, and food service sectors are operating. The retail industry continues to offer a wide range of imported products. Imports of U.S. fish and seafood, nuts, food ingredients, whiskey, beer, snacks, wine, and pet food remain strong. After the economy, population, and imports contracted following the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022, the situation recovered, with imports returning to pre-war levels. Although the 2026 economic outlook is less optimistic due to increasing war-related burdens, consumer spending grew in the first quarter. Expanding U.S. Agricultural Exports in Vietnam’s Rising Market The United States is the second-largest supplier of agricultural products to Vietnam, at $4.7 billion in 2025. Vietnam’s increasing population and rapidly growing gross domestic product (GDP) have benefitted U.S. agricultural exports. The greatest potential for U.S. agricultural exports in the Vietnamese market includes U.S. fresh fruits, dairy products, poultry and poultry products, feed and feed ingredients, cotton, ethanol, and agricultural-related products, including seafood and forestry products.
