AHEPA E-News Volume 18, Issue 28 | Wednesday, September 25, 2024 AHEPA Participates in Reception for Mitsotakis Supreme President Tsivicos had the opportunity to meet briefly with Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis in New York ahead of the United Nations General Assembly yesterday. Following the meeting, he joined AHEPA leadership in listening to the Prime Minister's remarks as he greeted those that had gathered at the reception at Anassa Taverna that brought together representatives of multiple Greek American organizations under one roof. Joining the Supreme President were Supreme Vice President Chris Kaitson, Supreme Governor Dean Moskos, Vice Chairman of the Board George G. Horiates, PSP, and Daughters of Penelope Grand President Margaret Dritsas. In addition to the Prime Minister, they had the opportunity to meet with Ambassador Ekaterini Nassika, Ambassador of Greece to the United States, and Kelly Vlahakis-Hanks, the President and CEO of Ecos. District Governors Convene in Nation's Capital Summer vacation has come to an end and once again, it's time for the AHEPA Family to get back on the clock! This past weekend, representatives came from every corner of the AHEPA Domain to Washington, DC in order to participate in the AHEPA Family Leadership Conference and discuss plans for the upcoming year.

Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with the caretaker Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, about the ongoing situation in the Middle East.

Prime Minister Trudeau expressed concern over the devastating effects of recent events on civilians in Lebanon, recognizing the hundreds killed in airstrikes, and he emphasized the urgent need for de-escalation to preserve unity. The people of Lebanon deserve to live in peace and security and should not bear the consequences of actions by Hezbollah, a terrorist organization. Prime Minister Trudeau also underscored the impact on the families of Canadians who have been affected, especially those who have been killed or injured.

The two leaders discussed efforts underway to support de-escalation across the region, including for an immediate ceasefire. Prime Minister Trudeau reiterated that Canada is committed to continue working with the international community to help advance peace in the region, as underscored by our call for an immediate 21-day ceasefire across the Lebanon-Israel border. The Prime Minister expressed his support for a diplomatic settlement consistent with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, as well as for the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2735 regarding a ceasefire in Gaza.

The leaders expressed their shared concerns over the worsening humanitarian situation resulting from the conflict. They agreed on the importance of adhering to international humanitarian law, ensuring humanitarian access to the affected areas, preserving the safety and security of civilian infrastructure, and protecting civilians. Prime Minister Trudeau reaffirmed Canada’s commitment to humanitarian support in Lebanon through the recent announcement of $10 million in funding for humanitarian assistance to address the urgent needs of civilians in Lebanon.

Prime Minister Trudeau and caretaker Prime Minister Mikati highlighted the strong people-to-people ties between Canada and Lebanon and the ongoing contributions of Lebanese Canadians to Canada’s national fabric. They agreed to remain in close contact as the situation continues to evolve.

ΣΕΒ: εκδήλωση «Ψηφιακές τεχνολογίες για μείωση του περιβαλλοντικού αποτυπώματος: Πρακτικά βήματα και οφέλη για τις επιχειρήσεις»

 

Με στόχο να βοηθήσει τις επιχειρήσεις να κατανοήσουν τις δυνατότητες και τα οφέλη που προσφέρουν οι ψηφιακές τεχνολογίες στην αποδοτικότερη διαχείριση του περιβαλλοντικού τους αποτυπώματος, ο ΣΕΒ οργανώνει ειδική εκδήλωση με τίτλο:    «Ψηφιακές τεχνολογίες για μείωση του περιβαλλοντικού αποτυπώματος: Πρακτικά βήματα και οφέλη για τις επιχειρήσεις» την Τετάρτη 2 Οκτωβρίου 2024 στις 16:00 στα γραφεία του, στην οδό Ξενοφώντος 5, στην Αθήνα.   Στην εκδήλωση θα συζητηθούν οι κρίσιμοι παράγοντες και αναγκαίες αποφάσεις για τη δίδυμη μετάβαση (ψηφιακή και πράσινη), τα ψηφιακά εργαλεία που έχουν στη διάθεσή τους οι επιχειρήσεις, τα σημεία εφαρμογής τους στην παραγωγική διαδικασία, αλλά και τα οφέλη για επιχειρήσεις όλων των μεγεθών.
