France: €113 000 seized in investigation into suspected fraud involving EU research and innovation funds (Luxembourg, 10 December 2025) – At the request of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) in Paris (France), the competent judge of the Paris Criminal Court has ordered the seizure of €113 000, in an investigation into suspected subsidy fraud affecting the EU’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.

● Eurogroup   11/12/2025 20:00 | Statements and remarks | Remarks by Makis Keravnos, acting President of the Eurogroup, following the Eurogroup meeting of 11 December 2025   I chaired today’s Eurogroup meeting in an acting capacity, following the departure of Paschal Donohoe, who as you know has taken up a new role at the World Bank. I take this opportunity to recognise – as many have already done – his years of dedicated service to the Eurogroup. Paschal’s drive, energy and contribution to the Eurogroup’s collegial spirit took us through the end of the pandemic, the energy crisis caused by Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine and the new challenges from across the Atlantic.

The Eurogroup today elected Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Minister of Economy and Finance of Greece, as President of the Eurogroup, in line with Protocol 14 of the EU treaties.



Kyriakos’ constructive contributions to our work have been highly valued by colleagues. I have no doubt that he will make an excellent President of the Eurogroup and wholeheartedly wish him every success in this post.
