Je voudrais commencer par remercier la Fondation Afrique Europe pour son implication, pour son engagement. Merci Mo (Ibrahim) pour ton implication constante afin de rapprocher les points de vue européens et africains. Maybe a few words. I am very pleased to cooperate and coordinate a lot with our friend Macky Sall. We had the pleasure of being together in Senegal a few weeks ago. Macky, you were in Brussels a few weeks ago in December with some other African leaders to have informal exchanges of views, in order to prepare the next summit that we will have in Brussels in February. I will just say a few words about the preparation of this summit. First, I sincerely hope it will be an opportunity for a new paradigm, for a new approach, for a new alliance between Africa and Europe. And this is why we have tried, in recent weeks, in recent months, to work a lot together – African friends, European friends. And thank you, also, for the role of this foundation in ensuring that we share the same views as much as possible, that we share the same priorities, and that we are ready to take the same measures, to decide together. It means that we need to agree – it will be one of the goals of the summit – on the principles for the future relationship between Africa and Europe. Mutual respect, sincerity, mutual interests, a role for the private sector, and how it is possible on both sides to improve governance. First, what are the foundations? What are the principles for our future relationship between Africa and Europe? Second, prosperity. We want more prosperity in Africa and in Europe. And it's a common interest: more prosperity taking into account the global challenges – climate change, digital revolution, energy, infrastructure, health, and all those challenges. The importance of financing, of channelling the money we need to make the right choices, and the importance of accountability. This is not the first time that we have made great statements, but we were not necessarily able to make sure that we were able to implement what we had decided together. That's why this question of governance accountability, in my opinion, should be an important element for this future partnership. And one last word – and it's very important – about security and stability. How is it possible to have a political dialogue to cooperate and to coordinate? How is it possible, from the European side, to develop the tools that are useful to support and to help our African partners, our African friends, to develop African solutions to improve the level of stability and improve the level of security? I won't take any longer. You see the passion. You see the commitment. I think this moment, this summit, should be – and, I hope, will be – an important moment for the future relationship. We have many challenges that we need to tackle and to address in common. And I'm very grateful again to all of you for your involvement and for your participation because what's important is not only a meeting with the leaders – what is important is also the societies in Africa and in Europe. The more our societies are interconnected, the more we will be able to succeed together and to prepare a better world because we will be able to prepare a better relationship between Africa and Europe. Discussions will focus on sharing best practices for managing the crisis, as well as harmonising national strategies in particular vaccination strategies.

The spread of the Omicron variant through our continent has led to a rapid and generalised deterioration of the public health situation in Europe, with unprecedented levels of daily new cases.

Due to its rapid spread and impact on our health systems, the Omicron variant poses an elevated risk of destabilising social and economic life in the EU Member States. This has led them to revisit their quarantine and isolation recommendations.

Given this situation, several European countries have begun considering the evolution of their vaccination campaigns and some among them have already announced the decision to administer a 4th dose to certain population groups. Others are waiting for additional data before making a decision. In addition, the forthcoming arrival of vaccines adapted to the variants raises the question of their roll-out and of adapting vaccine strategies in the European Union.

Moreover, the recent emergence of the Omicron variant underscores the importance of global vaccination to avoid a resurgence of the epidemic.

A coordinated response from Member States is necessary to tackle this situation. This extraordinary meeting will allow all of the EU health ministers, as well as those from the European Free Trade Association countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) to share information regarding their nonpharmaceutical (stay-at-home measures, curfews, etc.) and pharmaceutical national strategies, in particular vaccination strategies. They will then debate the coordination of these strategies by discussing the administration of a 4th dose and the next joint vaccination procurement. At the international level, a reminder will be issued on the necessity of continuing to strongly support countries with inadequate access to vaccines, which is a shared priority in the Union.

The European Commissioner for Health, Stella Kyryiakides, as well as representatives of European agencies and authorities, in particular the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA), will participate in the discussions.

This event reflects the priorities set by the French Presidency for an enhanced European Health Union. Striving for greater coherence in the EU’s response regarding public health security and prevention, particularly as regards vaccination, remains a key condition for resilience of our health systems in the context of the ongoing pandemic.

THE PRESIDENT: Hello, folks. Thanks for being here.

Well, good afternoon, everyone. Tomorrow will mark one year since I took office. It’s been a year of challenges, but it’s also been a year of enormous progress.

We went from 2 million people being vaccinated at the moment I was sworn in to 210 million Americans being fully vaccinated today.

We created 6 million new jobs — more jobs in one year than at any time before.

Unemployment dropped — the unemployment rate dropped to 3.9 percent.

Child poverty dropped by nearly 40 percent — the biggest drop ever in American history.

New business applications grew by 30 percent — the biggest increase ever.

And for the first time in a long time, this country’s working people actually got a raise — actually got a raise. The people — the bottom 40 percent saw their income go up the most of all those that got a raise.

We cut health insurance premiums for millions of American families.

And we just made surprise medical bills illegal in this country. You know those bills you get that you don’t expect — up to $2,000 or $5,000 — from a hospital, beyond what you thought you were going to have to owe because of the consultation you weren’t told was going to cost that much? No more. They’re now illegal.

Thanks to the American Rescue Plan and other actions we’ve taken, we’ve seen record job creation and record economic growth in the past year.

Now, thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, we’re about to make a record investment in rebuilding America to take us to be the number-one best infrastructure in the world. Well, now we’re way below that.

We’ll be creating better jobs for millions of people modernizing our roads, our bridges, our highways, our ports, our airports — everything from making clean water; lead — removing lead pipes that every American can turn on — every American can turn on a faucet and drink clean water — urban and rural and suburban communities.

It’s going to make affordable high-speed Internet available to every American in urban, rural, and suburban areas. We’ve never done that before. Now we are. We’re in the process of that getting that done.

Still, for all this progress, I know there’s a lot of frustration and fatigue in this country.

And we know why: COVID-19. Omicron has now been challenging us in a way that — it’s the new enemy.

But while it’s cause for concern, it’s not cause for panic.

We’ve been doing everything we can, learning and adapting as fast as we can, and preparing for a future beyond the pandemic.

While I know that after almost two years of physical, emotional, and psychological weight of this pandemic, and has — the impact it’s had on everyone, for many of us, it’s been too much to bear. We’re in a very different place now, though.

We have the tools — vaccines, boosters, masks, tests, pills — to save lives and keep businesses and schools open.

Seventy-five percent of adults are fully vaccinated. We’ve gone from 90 million adults with no shots in arms last summer down to 35 million with no shots as of today. And we’re adding about 9 million more vaccinations each week.

The agenda included matters of bilateral cooperation, current international and regional issues, and problems with implementing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran’s nuclear programme.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Mr President, I would like to begin by thanking you for finding the time to come to Russia in these difficult Covid times.

We have been in constant contact since your inauguration, but of course, videoconferences and telephone conversations cannot replace personal meetings.

I would like to note that despite the pandemic we increased trade even the year before last. This increase was not big – over 6 percent, but it was still an increase. Last year, our trade grew by more than 38 percent. We are carrying out our major projects in many areas.

We closely cooperate in the international arena. We can say that our efforts largely helped the Syrian government overcome the threats linked with international terrorism. Now both you and we are concerned about the situation that is taking shape in Afghanistan. I would like to discuss all these issues with you and hear your position on these problems.

Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are developing relations on a temporary basis, under a temporary agreement. We are doing much to create a long-term foundation for cooperation and a free trade area between Iran and our union.

Iran plays a major role as an observer in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) as well.

Finally, it is very important for me to know your position on the JCPOA.

In other words, we have a very extensive agenda. I am happy to see you.

As we begin our meeting, I would like to ask you to convey my very best wishes to your spiritual leader – Mr Khamenei. Welcome.

In the name of Rahman, I would like to thank you sincerely, Your Excellency, for inviting me to Moscow. I am very happy to have this meeting with you today.

Your Excellency, I would like to thank you for supporting the Islamic Republic of Iran in becoming a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. In foreign policy, the will of the Islamic Republic of Iran is in cooperation, full cooperation with countries, neighbouring countries in particular.

As for relations with the friendly Russian Federation, we want these relations to be sustainable and comprehensive. We can develop our relations in the economy, trade, politics, culture and all other areas that benefit our two countries and our two peoples. So, we can develop and expand bilateral cooperation in all of these areas.

We in the Islamic Republic of Iran have no restrictions on developing and expanding ties with friendly Russia and these ties will become strategic. Therefore, these relations will not be short-term or situational – they will be permanent and strategic.

I would like to say that in the current, exceptional conditions when unilateral actions by the West, including the US are being confronted, we can create synergy in our cooperation.

We have opposed the Americans for over 40 years and we will never stop progress and national development because of sanctions or threats. We are of course trying to have these sanctions lifted. We are working on different mechanisms, and our ultimate goal is to remove restrictions with their help.

We have had very good experience in cooperating with the Russian Federation in Syria. We were fighting terrorism in the region, in the Syrian Arab Republic through a concerted effort. We can use this positive experience in many other areas.

We have a document on bilateral strategic cooperation, which may determine our future relations for the next 20 years. At any rate, it can explain our prospects. This is why we have given this document to our Russian colleagues. We believe this document will certainly determine the long-term prospects for strategic cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation.

We are not content with our trade and economic ties in the current situation. Of course, we can increase the level of trade and economic cooperation several times over, including investment in trade and in the economy. We are working to raise the level of our cooperation in trade and the economy and to raise investment manifold.

I would like to say I hope that the agreements made by our colleagues during this visit will be developed further. I know that with your positive view of our cooperation you, Your Excellency, can help translate these agreements into reality. On my part, I intend to instruct my colleagues in the Islamic Republic of Iran to focus on developing practical cooperation that should produce the desired results.

Since I have been the head of our Government, I have been monitoring our plan to upgrade our diplomatic ties. Of course, we are working with the Russian Federation and its Foreign Ministry. Our colleagues are cooperating. They welcome this event, and I believe there are no barriers to constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation.

We also cooperate in regional organisations, such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the Eurasian Economic Union. Our ties are very deep. I think we can deepen them even further and take productive steps to promote our cooperation in this regard.

In think that in these conditions we can launch new cooperation in the economy, politics, culture, science, technology, the defence and military areas, security, and aviation and space, to name a few. We can develop a new level of cooperation in all these areas.

I would like to convey to Your Excellency best regards on behalf of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khamenei. He also lays emphasis on the development and expansion of bilateral ties and the synergy that we can create together.

I am at your service.

Στο πλαίσιο του τακτικού ετήσιου ελέγχου του έργου των Ανεξάρτητων Αρχών, η Ειδική Μόνιμη Επιτροπή Θεσμών και Διαφάνειας της Βουλής των Ελλήνων, υπό την προεδρία  του Αντιπρόεδρου της Βουλής και Βουλευτή Δυτικής Αττικής, κ. Θανάση Μπούρα, συνεδρίασε με θέμα ημερήσιας διάταξης τη συζήτηση επί των Εκθέσεων Πεπραγμένων, ετών 2019 και 2020, του Ανώτατου  Συμβουλίου Επιλογής Προσωπικού (Α.Σ.Ε.Π.).

 Αρχικά, έλαβε χώρα ακρόαση του Προέδρου του Α.Σ.Ε.Π., κ. Αθανασίου Παπαϊωάννου. Συγκεκριμένα, ο κ. Παπαϊωάννου εστίασε στα εξής σημεία : α) απολογιστικά στοιχεία της τελευταίας πενταετίας (ως προς τις θέσεις για τις οποίες εκδόθηκαν οριστικά αποτελέσματα, καθώς και το χρόνο που μεσολάβησε μεταξύ της έκδοσης της προκήρυξης και της δημοσίευσης των οριστικών αποτελεσμάτων), β) εκκρεμείς διαδικασίες προσλήψεων την 1/1/22 και γ) παράγοντες επιβράδυνσης και επιτάχυνσης της ταχύτητας έκδοσης αποτελεσμάτων.

Στη συζήτηση που ακολούθησε αναδείχθηκε το γεγονός της σημαντικής αύξησης του πλήθους των αιτήσεων συμμετοχής σε προκηρύξεις του ΑΣΕΠ, με την αναλογία προκηρυσσόμενων θέσεων προς πλήθος αιτήσεων να ανέρχεται από 1:10 σε 1:30 έως 1: 40, όπως επίσης και το ζήτημα των αναπληρώσεων, των αντικαταστάσεων δηλαδή διοριστέων που είτε δεν ανέλαβαν εργασία είτε παραιτήθηκαν στη συνέχεια.

Από την πλευρά του, ο κ. Μπούρας, αναφέρθηκε στην προσπάθεια που καταβάλει ως Πρόεδρος της Επιτροπής για τον έγκαιρο προγραμματισμό των ακροάσεων των Προέδρων των Ανεξάρτητων Αρχών, καθώς και για την έγκαιρη πληροφόρηση των μελών με το προς συζήτηση υλικό.

Η συνεδρίαση της Επιτροπής Θεσμών και Διαφάνειας προβλήθηκε σε απευθείας μετάδοση από το Κανάλι της Βουλής, δίνοντας, έτσι, τη δυνατότητα σε κάθε Έλληνα πολίτη να ενημερωθεί για το έργο και τις διαδικασίες αυτού του τόσο σημαντικού θεσμού που εγγυάται τη διαφάνεια και την αξιοπιστία των προσλήψεων και της ανάδειξης στελεχών στο δημόσιο.

Η ΔΛ Gallery παρουσιάζει το Σάββατο 5 Φεβρουαρίου 2022 την ατομική έκθεση του Γιάννη Λασηθιωτάκη με τίτλο « Οι Πύλες του Παραδείσου»


Στο κείμενο που την συνοδεύει, ο ίδιος σημειώνει:
Σε αυτήν την έκθεση γίνεται μια προσπάθεια ανασυγκρότησης ενός χωρικού γεγονότος στο οποίο ο θεατής καλείται να βιώσει τον ανθρώπινο πόνο, ακολουθώντας τη λογική και τη σημειολογία μιας σταύρωσης. Έργα στις ίδιες διαστάσεις, αναρτημένα σε σχέσεις διαλόγου, αφηγούνται χωρίς περιγραφικότητα καταστάσεις εύθραυστης ισορροπίας. Μαύρες γραμμές ανιχνεύουν όρια, σχίζουν αποφασιστικά το τελάρο από άκρη σε άκρη, αγγίζουν ένα κόκκινο αιμάτινο παραλληλόγραμμο, ψηλαφώντας το τραύμα της ανθρώπινης φθαρτότητας. Ο καμβάς υπάρχει εκεί πάντα, πάλλευκος και άμωμος, για να δεχθεί τις επεμβάσεις, ως υπενθύμιση, ως ιερά σινδόνη.





Σε μια μεγάλη τοιχογραφία επάλληλα σχήματα διαφορετικών χρωμάτων δημιουργούν μια χωροχρονική σήραγγα. Υποβάλλουν την αίσθηση ενός ιδεατού άυλου χώρου. Καλούν τον θεατή να δρασκελίσει το κατώφλι μιας υπερβατικής άγνωστης περιοχής, μεγαλειώδους και διχαστικής -όπου ο πόνος είναι παρών, αλλά απελευθερώνει και λυτρώνει.
Τα σχήματα σε παραλλαγές είναι κομμάτια, θραύσματα , αποσπάσματα ενός έργου σε συνεχή διαμόρφωση. Τίποτα δεν είναι ακέραιο, τελεσίδικο, ολοκληρωμένο.
Στοιχεία επαναλαμβάνονται επίμονα σαν κώδικας, σαν πολύχρωμα ηχητικά σήματα μιας άφωνης ακολουθίας.





ΟΙ ΠΥΛΕΣ

Τι είναι λοιπόν οι Πύλες του Παραδείσου; Είναι το οικείο, το γνωστό, το ασφαλές που μας καθησυχάζει, ή το άγνωστο που μας φοβίζει και μας προκαλεί; Είναι το αίμα, η απώλεια, η εμπειρία του πένθους, η καταστροφή, ο πόνος και στον αντίποδα το όνειρο, η μνήμη, το ιδανικό, το μεγάλο υπαρξιακό ερώτημα του τέλους. Το Πέρασμα στην άλλη όχθη, στο επέκεινα.

Οι Πύλες είναι τόποι παράξενοι και μυστηριώδεις, ιδεατοί και ιδανικοί, άυλοι και απτοί. Αφήνονται στην ενατένιση ή στο άγγιγμα του θεατή, ακροβατώντας στο μεταίχμιο μνήμης και λήθης, πραγματικότητας και φαντασίας.





Στέκουν ανάμεσα στο «εδώ» και το «εκεί», χωρίζουν και ταυτόχρονα ενώνουν ετερότητες, ορίζουν μεταβατικούς τόπους. Είναι δυνητικά τοπία διαβάσεων και αποκαλύψεων. Καθοδηγούν το βλέμμα του θεατή σε ένα άδηλο και ακαθόριστο προοπτικό βάθος, σε ένα μέλλον ακόμη άγνωστο και ανεξιχνίαστο.

Τα Περάσματα, αυτές οι γραμμικές επάλληλες Πύλες του ελάχιστου υλικού αποτυπώματος, είναι νοητά κατώφλια που το έργο μας καλεί να διαβούμε.

Αν οδηγούν στον Παράδεισο εναπόκειται στον επισκέπτη της έκθεσης να το αποφασίσει.

Την αποκατάσταση των ζημιών από τους μαθητές που συμμετείχαν στην κατάληψη σχολείου ζήτησε ο δήμαρχος Παπάγου – Χολαργού, τονίζοντας ότι «απέτυχαν να διαφυλάξουν τη δημόσια περιουσία».

Κατεστραμμένα και αναποδογυρισμένα θρανία και καρέκλες, καμένα βιβλία αλλά και «απουσία» πολλών αντικειμένων διαπίστωσε ο διευθυντής του 1ου Λυκείου Παπάγου (το οποίο συστεγάζεται με το Γυμνάσιο) στην πρώτη του επίσκεψη εντός του κτιρίου, μετά το τέλος της εξαήμερης κατάληψης που είχε πραγματοποιηθεί την πρώτη εβδομάδα έναρξης των μαθημάτων (Δευτέρα 10 – Κυριακή 16 Ιανουαρίου) μετά τις διακοπές των Χριστουγέννων από ομάδα μαθητών.
