USDA Announces $300 Million in Additional Regional Agricultural Promotion Program Grants to Diversify U.S. Agricultural Export MarketsWASHINGTON, Dec. 19, 2024 – U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced the second round of Regional Agricultural Promotion Program (RAPP) grants, which is intended to allocate $300 million to [67 partners] once all legal and administrative requirements are satisfied, expanding American food and agricultural exports in emerging global markets. This latest investment brings total RAPP funding to $600 million in 2024. The new grants aim to diversify export markets in regions with rising consumer demand and purchasing power, including Africa, Latin America/the Caribbean, and South/Southeast Asia. These regions offer significant opportunities for U.S. producers seeking to establish a stronger foothold in dynamic and growing markets. “RAPP is a critical tool for helping U.S. producers and agribusinesses stay competitive in today’s global trading environment,” Secretary Vilsack said. “The Biden-Harris approach to trade is delivering results for U.S. agriculture through record exports and improved relationships with current and future trading partners, and this investment supports actions that build on the global demand for American agriculture’s high-quality products.” Under the Biden-Harris administration, U.S. agricultural exports have grown significantly, posting the three highest years in history in 2021, 2022, and 2023 – including a record of nearly $196 billion in 2022 and nearly $175 billion in 2023. USDA and the United States Trade Representative (USTR) have helped to secure over $26.7 billion in agricultural market access since the start of the Biden-Harris Administration. In Fiscal Year 2024, the actions of USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service helped preserve $8.8 billion in total U.S. agricultural exports. Since 2022, USDA has issued $9.4 billion in loan payment guarantees to facilitate the diversification of U.S. agricultural export markets. USDA also leveraged $2.3 billion in Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) funds in 2024 to help U.S. agriculture export market development efforts and combat global food insecurity. In addition to RAPP, $100 million was targeted for aid to address the unique challenges for specialty crops producers seeking to enhance market growth opportunities by exporting. Separately, USDA is using $1 billion of the CCC funds to support international food assistance programs and strengthen global food security, which benefits U.S. agricultural producers. Ein großer Schritt für die Resilienz des Bundesverfassungsgerichtes und des demokratischen Rechtsstaats
Zu den Beschlüssen des Bundestages und des Bundesrates, durch Verfassungsänderung die Resilienz des Bundesverfassungsgerichtes zu stärken und wichtige Regelungen durch Aufnahme ins Grundgesetz nur mit einer Zweidrittel-Mehrheit änderbar zu machen, erklären Dr. Antje Draheim und Harald Baumann-Hasske, Vorsitzende der ASJ:
„Es ist ein guter Tag für Demokratie und Rechtsstaat, dass diese Verfassungsänderung beschlossen werden konnte. Sie macht die Bundesrepublik Deutschland sicherer gegen mögliche Versuche, Verfassungsgerichte, die Justiz, die Verwaltung und die Medien gleichzuschalten, wie sie in Polen und in Ungarn mit unterschiedlichem Erfolg unternommen wurden. Es geht nicht nur um die Besetzung und die Arbeitsweise des Bundesverfassungsgerichts, sondern um Vorsorge vor Angriffen auf seine Unabhängigkeit und Funktionsfähigkeit durch eine autoritär-populistisch agierende Partei. Wer das Gericht willkürlich vergrößern, umbesetzen, die Wahlperiode der Richterinnen und Richter begrenzen oder die Arbeitsweise verändern könnte, würde der politischen Einflussnahme auf die Unabhängigkeit des Gerichts alle Tore offen lassen.“ so Draheim.
„Lange konnte sich niemand vorstellen, dass jemand so etwas versuchen könnte; diese Zeiten sind vorbei. Deswegen war dieser Schritt so wichtig. Wir freuen uns, dass es der Bundesregierung ohne eigene Mehrheit im Parlament gelungen ist, ein solches Projekt gerade in einer Zeit nach Stellung der Vertrauensfrage im Bundestag und Bundesrat umzusetzen. Es zeigt, dass Olaf Scholz in der Lage ist, die demokratischen Fraktionen im Bundestag zusammenzuführen. Zu danken ist Rolf Mützenich und den Rechtspolitikern der SPD-Fraktion, aber auch den anderen Fraktionen des Deutschen Bundestages, die an diesem wichtigen Gesetz mitgewirkt und ihren wertvollen Beitrag geleistet haben. Selbst in einer Phase des Wahlkampfes gibt es eine Gemeinsamkeit der Demokratinnen und Demokraten, was auch für die Zukunft wichtig ist.“ erklärt Baumann-Hasske.
„Dass die Landesregierung Brandenburgs, wo eine autoritär-populistische Partei im Landtag bereits über eine Sperrminorität verfügt, sich im Bundesrat auf Veranlassung der BSW bei der Abstimmung im Bundesrat enthalten musste, ist hingegen kein gutes Zeichen für eine auf die Resilienz unseres demokratischen Rechtsstaats ausgerichtete Rechtspolitik“, so Draheim abschließend.

Antibiotics are lifesaving tools but can come with risks. Antibiotics can kill everything in a patient’s gut microbiome—including helpful and harmful microbes. This can lead to germs taking over the gut microbiome, and it can take a long time for the microbiome to return to normal after antibiotic treatment. In some cases, the gut microbiome may never restore on its own, and fecal microbiota can be used to replenish and help protect against germs.

Mona Fortier previously served as Deputy Government Whip. First elected in 2017, and re-elected twice, she has held various Cabinet positions, including President of the Treasury Board and Minister of Middle Class Prosperity and Associate Minister of Finance. Supreme President Tsivicos, Ambassador-Designate Guilfoyle Discuss U.S.-Greece Relations, AHEPA'S Century-Long Role |

Washington, D.C. — Earlier today, AHEPA Supreme President Savas C. Tsivicos engaged in a constructive conversation with U.S. Ambassador-Designate to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle as she embarks on her confirmation process. The discussion focused on Greece’s strategic importance in the southeastern Mediterranean and the enduring impact of AHEPA’s work in the region over the last 102 years. Supreme President Tsivicos shared insights into the current geopolitical landscape, emphasizing the vital role Greece plays in regional stability. He also highlighted AHEPA’s contributions to Greece, Cyprus, and the broader Mediterranean, underscoring the organization's commitment to promoting U.S. interests and fostering strong relations as a longstanding bridge between the two longstanding allies. Additionally, Tsivicos discussed the continued provocations by Turkey over Greece territorial integrity, the continued occupation of Cyprus and raised concerns about the protection of religious freedoms and the protection of the Ecumenical patriarchate in Turkey, advocating for U.S. support in ensuring the preservation of religious rights in the region. According to Tsivicos, Ambassador-Designate Guilfoyle expressed her appreciation for AHEPA’s century-long service and support to Greece and the assistance it provides to communities across the United States while affirming that if confirmed, she would work to strengthen and advance the importance of Greece and its role in the region. Tsivicos noted AHEPA’s historical involvement in promoting U.S. interests in Greece, including the creation of the Truman Statue, which honors Ahepan President Harry S. Truman’s efforts to rebuild Greece after World War II. He also mentioned AHEPA’s role in the construction of the George Marshall Statue erected on the grounds of the U.S. Embassy in Athens, commemorating the Marshall Plan. The Supreme President expressed eagerness to meet with Ambassador-Designate Guilfoyle in Athens, if confirmed. “We look forward to working closely with the U.S. Ambassador to continue promoting strong U.S.-Greece relations,” he remarked.

Επί χρόνια, κυκλοφορούσε την έντυπη έκδοσή της σε ένα ικανότατο τιράζ (5000 καλαίσθητων φύλλων εβδομαδιαίως) και εντυπωσίαζε με την ποιότητα της εμφάνισης και το ουσιώδες, μαχητικό και έντιμο περιεχόμενο της.
Η δύναμη της Πένας της Εφημερίδας, η Ειλικρίνεια, οι Ερευνές της που έφερναν πάντα ουσιαστικό αποτέλεσμα ενημέρωσης, την έφεραν πολύ γρήγορα πρώτη στην προτίμηση των αναγνωστών και γρήγορα εξελίχθηκε σε Εφημερίδα Γνώμης και όχι μόνον για την Περιφέρεια στην οποία κυκλοφορούσε.

Στις σελίδες της, θα βρείτε ακόμα και σήμερα μόνο άξιες και χρήσιμες Πολιτικές Προσωπικότητες αλλά και ενημέρωση από κάθε Κόμμα της Ελληνικής Βουλής. Η «ΠΟΛΙΤΙΚΗ» ουδέποτε διαχώρησε τους αναγνώστες της ανάλογα με τα πολιτικά τους πιστεύω. Επραττε το καθήκον της, ενημερώνοντας όλους τους Ελληνες, ως όφειλε.

=Επί είκοσι έξι ολόκληρα χρόνια, ο απλός δημότης–πολίτης, φιλοξενείται στις σελίδες της με μόνη προϋπόθεση την ειλικρινή και αντικειμενική γραφή και την ελεύθερη Γνώμη, η οποία ΟΥΔΕΠΟΤΕ λογοκρίθηκε.
Η ΕΦΗΜΕΡΙΔΑ «ΠΟΛΙΤΙΚΗ», είναι ένα βήμα Ισονομίας και Ισοπολιτείας, έννοιες απόλυτα επιθυμητές, ιδιαιτέρως στις ημέρες μας. Είναι ο δικτυακός τόπος της έκφρασης του πολίτη και της εποικοδομητικής κριτικής, μακριά από κάθε στήριξη αφού ΟΥΔΕΠΟΤΕ ετύγχανε οικονομικής υποστήριξης από Δήμους, Κυβερνήσεις ή όποιους άλλους Δημόσιους ή Ιδιωτικούς Φορείς, δεν είχε ΠΟΤΕ χορηγούς, ή οποιασδήποτε μορφής υποστηρικτές. Απολαμβάνει όμως Διεθνούς σεβασμού αφού φιλοξενεί ενημέρωση από αρκετά ξένα Κράτη πράγμα που της περιποιεί βεβαίως, μέγιστη τιμή.
Η ΕΦΗΜΕΡΙΔΑ «ΠΟΛΙΤΙΚΗ» διαγράφει απο την γέννησή της μια αξιοζήλευτη πορεία και απέκτησε εξ αιτίας αυτού,ΜΕΓΙΣΤΗ αναγνωσιμότητα.
Η Εφημερίδα «ΠΟΛΙΤΙΚΗ» κέρδισε την αποδοχή και τον σεβασμό που της ανήκει, με «εξετάσεις» εικοσι έξι ολόκληρων ετών, με συνεχείς αιματηρούς αγώνες κατά της τοπικής διαπλοκής, με αγώνα επιβίωσης σε πολύ δύσκολους καιρούς, με Εντιμότητα, αίσθηση Καθήκοντος και Ευθύνης.
