This month, Administrator Samantha Power traveled to El-Arish, Egypt—the hub for international assistance crossing into Gaza—to accompany 16.3 metric tons of medical supplies, winter clothing, food, and other aid for people in Gaza and the West Bank affected by the ongoing conflict in that region. She also announced an additional $21 million in U.S. humanitarian assistance on top of the $100 million announced weeks ago, and called on countries to help the estimated 2.2 million people in need of support. “More must be done to protect civilians and accelerate the pace of life-saving assistance reaching the people of Gaza,” she said.
