Highlights
EU butter prices: 487 €/100 kg, +8.8% up in last 4 weeks;
EU SMP prices: 292 €/100 kg, +4.9% up in last 4 weeks;
EU WMP prices: 363 €/100 kg, +6.3% up in last 4 weeks;
EU cheddar prices: 329 €/100 kg, +0.5% up in last 4 weeks;
Increase of feed costs (+3%) and energy costs (+12.4%) in week 43 compared to the previous 4 weeks;
IT spot milk price up, now at 44.5 c/kg. (31/10/2021);
GDT last auction (2/11/2021): general price index +4.3%. Price increased for: butter (+4.7%), lactose (+1.6%), cheddar (+14.1%), SMP (+6.6%) and WMP (2.7%), and decreased for butter milk powder (-3.8%);
EU is more price competitive on SMP and cheddar; Oceania on WMP; USA by far most competitive on butter (difference: ~ 800 & 1300 USD/tonne vs. Oceania & EU).
