APEC Reinforces Ethical Standards, Drives Global Impact in Health-Related Sectors

APEC Small and Medium Enterprises Working Group

Lima, Peru, 21 October 2024

Dedicated to advancing ethical standards in health-related sectors, senior stakeholders from across the Asia-Pacific convened in Lima last month to drive action to enhance ethical practices, reinforcing APEC's leadership in promoting sustainable growth and fair competition for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

“Ethical business practices are not just about doing the right thing—they are about creating environments where businesses can thrive, where innovation can flourish and where societies can prosper,” said Diane Farrell, Deputy Under Secretary for International Trade at the US Department of Commerce, upon opening the 2024 APEC Business Ethics for Small and Medium Enterprises Forum.

Pyatt will travel to Athens, Greece and Istanbul, Türkiye October 8-10, 2024, for ministerial and private sector meetings on regional energy transitions and energy security priorities. In Athens, Assistant Secretary Pyatt will discuss advancing U.S.-Greece energy cooperation with senior Greek officials including from the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Energy, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He will also join the leadership teams of energy companies to discuss opportunities in clean energy deployment and improving regional connectivity. Assistant Secretary Pyatt will also deliver remarks at an EU-hosted workshop intended to diversify natural gas supply in Southeastern and Central Europe and advance our shared goal of full decoupling from Russian energy by 2027. Συνέντευξη στην εφημερίδα «Κυριακάτικη Απογευματινή» και την Πένυ Αβραμίδη.

Κύριε Υπουργέ, ανακοινώσατε την Πέμπτη μαζί με τον Υπουργό Εθνικής Άμυνας μια δέσμη μέτρων για την ενίσχυση των Στρατιωτικών Σχολών. Ποιοι λόγοι σας οδήγησαν σε αυτή την πρωτοβουλία, τι περιλαμβάνει και ποιοι είναι οι στόχοι σας;

Η πρωτοβουλία μας αυτή έρχεται ως πρώτη αντίδραση στο φαινόμενο κάμψης του ενδιαφέροντος για εισαγωγή στις Στρατιωτικές Σχολές. Συγκεκριμένα, την τελευταία τριετία καταγράφεται μειωμένη κάλυψη θέσεων, η οποία φέτος έφτασε στο 64% των συνολικών θέσεων. Είναι ξεκάθαρο ότι δεν πρόκειται για ένα θέμα αποκλειστικά εκπαιδευτικό, αλλά πρωτίστως εθνικό – είναι θέμα υπόστασης της χώρας.

Για τον λόγο αυτό, εξαγγείλαμε με τον Υπουργό Νίκο Δένδια μια σειρά δράσεων, όπως η αύξηση των Επιστημονικών Πεδίων πρόσβασης στις Στρατιωτικές Σχολές από το 2026 και η καθιέρωση

Θα συνεχίσουμε τις μειώσεις φόρων – συνέντευξη στην εφημερίδα ΑΠΟΓΕΥΜΑΤΙΝΗ

Την πρόθεση της κυβέρνησης να συνεχιστεί η πολιτική των μειώσεων φορών εκφράζει στην «Κυριακάτικη Απογευματινή» ο υπουργός Εθνικής Οικονομίας και Οικονομικών, Κωστής Χατζηδάκης, υπό την προϋπόθεση ότι θα γίνεται απαρέγκλιτη εφαρμογή ενός σοβαρού μίγματος οικονομικής πολιτικής που φέρνει αποτελέσματα. Ο υπουργός διαμηνύει πως η ιστορία των παρατάσεων τελειώνει μια και καλή, αναφερόμενος στην υποβολή φορολογικών δηλώσεων, αλλά και στα πρόστιμα που προβλέπονται στους επικεφαλής και στους διευθυντές των αρμόδιων δημόσιων φορέων που καθυστερούν, τονίζοντας πως πρώτη φορά το κράτος δεν ζητά απλώς από τους πολίτες, αλλά ζητά από τον εαυτό του και , κυρίως, τιμωρεί εκείνους τους δημόσιους λειτουργούς που δεν κάνουν σωστά τη δουλειά τους. Ο κ. Χατζηδάκης αναφέρεται ακόμη στις αλλαγές που ανακοινώθηκαν για τα φιλοδωρήματα και τις αντιδράσεις που προέκυψαν, ξεκαθαρίζοντας πως εδώ και αρκετές δεκαετίες το φιλοδώρημα ήδη φορολογείται , αλλά λόγω του ότι προηγουμένως δεν υπήρχαν POS δεν μπορούσε να εντοπιστεί, σημειώνοντας πως η κυβέρνηση προχωρά σε πλήρη απαλλαγή εργοδοτών και εργαζομένων από τις ασφαλιστικές εισφορές που σχετίζονται με φιλοδωρήματα, ορίζοντας παράλληλα ένα επιπλέον αφορολόγητο στο ύψος των 3.600 ευρώ/χρόνο . Αναφορικά με την έκτακτη βοήθεια που θα δοθεί στους οικονομικά αδύναμους πολίτες, ο κ. Χατζηδάκης επισημαίνει ότι πρόκειται για ενίσχυση ύψους 243 εκατ. ευρώ, η οποία θα διανεμηθεί πριν από τα Χριστούγεννα σε περίπου 2 εκατ. ευάλωτους συμπολίτες μας.

Ο προγραμματισμός του Πιερικού Οργανισμού Τουριστικής Ανάπτυξης και Προβολής (Π.Ο.Τ.Α.Π.) με το γραφείο Συνεδρίων και Επισκεπτών Thessaloniki Convention Buteau (TCB) από την φάση της διερεύνησης των δεδομένων και της προοπτικής σύμπραξης των δύο πλευρών περνά πλέον στην υλοποίηση του συνεργατικού πλαισίου, που αποσκοπεί στην αξιοποίηση, ανάδειξη και ευρύτατη προβολή της Πιερίας στις εγχώριες και διεθνείς αγορές.

Η πρώτη προγραμματική προσέγγιση του Π.Ο.Τ.Α.Π. με τον κορυφαίο οργανισμό με διεθνή απήχηση, το γραφείο Συνεδρίων και Επισκεπτών Thessaloniki Convention Buteau (TCB) ξεκίνησε στις αρχές του τρέχοντος χρόνου όπου οριοθετήθηκαν οι παράμετροι και τα πλάνα των λεπτομερειών της συνεργασίας.
