The Archdiocesan Executive Committee convened on Holy Monday to address the deepening financial crisis at St. Demetrios Cathedral in Astoria. A $1.25 million loan guaranteed by the Archdiocese was extended through July, the State of New York approved the Archdiocese's purchase of 39% of the building for $3 million, and $500,000 was set aside for potential misconduct settlements.
