Waterman Lecture with Muyinatu A. Lediju Bell, Johns Hopkins University.
08/07/2024
You are cordially invited to the upcoming Waterman Lecture titled, "Equitable Medical Imaging," presented by Muyinatu A. Lediju Bell, Johns Hopkins University.
Date: August 21, 2024.
Time: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET.
Zoom link: https://nsf.zoomgov.com/webinar/register/WN_17rTIiwgRJeYvYMZ7TNjeQ#/registration
In her talk, Bell will address the critical issue of equity in medical imaging. Traditional imaging technologies, such as ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging, often rely on algorithms that do not account for individual differences such as skin tone, tissue density, and body mass. Bell will present innovative signal processing techniques designed to overcome these limitations.
This lecture offers a unique opportunity to explore how technological advancements can address health disparities and enhance clinical practices.
This talk is part of a three-part series featuring the 2024 Alan T. Waterman Award laureates. Upcoming lectures include:
Katrina G. Claw, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus
