The following GAIN reports were released on January 2, 2023. _______Indonesia: FAIRS Annual Country ReportThis report provides updated technical information for requirements and regulations on food and agricultural products as currently required by the Government of Indonesia (GOI). Sections that have been updated for this year include Food Additive Regulations; Labeling Requirements; Other Requirements, Regulations, and Registrations Measures; and Import Procedures. The appendices have also been updated and a section on Trade Facilitation has been added. Indonesia: FAIRS Export Certificate Report AnnualThis report supplements information provided in the 2023 Indonesia FAIRS Country Report and updates the 2022 Indonesian FAIRS Export Certificate Report. Pakistan: FAIRS Annual Country ReportThe report outlines regulatory requirements and import procedures for food and agricultural imports into Pakistan. As compared to the last report submitted in December 2022, this report contains additions to food laws, packaging, and common delays sections. Lack of clarity on regulations to import genetically engineered commodities for food, feed, and processing caused soybean imports to stop as of November 2022. High import duties and labelling and halal requirements hinder opportunities for most types of food imports. The federal government regulates Pakistan’s food imports, and the provincial governments regulate food safety standards. Pakistan: FAIRS Export Certificate Report AnnualThis report outlines Pakistan’s requirements for import permits and export certificates for various food products for human and animal consumption. It also provides a list of the Pakistani government agencies involved in the entry of imported food products. Poland: FAIRS Annual Country ReportPoland is a European Union (EU) Member State and applies all EU regulations pertaining to imports of food and feed products. U.S. food and feed suppliers to Poland should verify with local importers and appropriate U.S. regulatory agencies regarding the most current local requirements prior to shipment. Poland: FAIRS Export Certificate Report AnnualPoland applies European Union (EU) regulatory requirements for all food of animal or plant origin. Although the EU has harmonized export certificate requirements for most products, Poland maintains national-level oversight for products still not harmonized under the EU. Poland’s competent authorities can be consulted on a case-by-case basis regarding requirements for non-EU harmonized products. The EU requires that all requisite products be accompanied by sanitary and/or phytosanitary certificates at the port of entry. Tanzania: FAIRS Annual Country ReportThis report describes the import requirements and regulations for food and agricultural commodities required by mainland Tanzania. The report outlines Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) rules and other regulations for U.S. exports. The Government of Tanzania has updated its pesticide regulations through the Plant Health Regulations of 2023, which modernizes and combines the 1997 Plant Protection Act and the 1998 Plant Protection Regulations. The new regulations do not create any new import requirements or procedures. Tanzania: FAIRS Export Certificate Report AnnualThis report complements the FAIRS Annual Country Report for Tanzania and provides information on required certificates for exporting food and agricultural products to the Tanzania mainland. The Government of Tanzania (GoT) uses the Tanzania National Business Portal as a single window for exporters and importers to electronically submit and receive approvals from all regulatory agencies involved in international trade.
