HighlightsRaw milk prices keep rising, reaching 43,5 EUR/100 kg in March 2022. This is a +2.3 % growth since last month.
The prices for butter, SMP and cheddar decreased during week 17, compared to the average of the previous 4 weeks. Butter: 681 EUR/100 kg (-0.3 %), SMP 411 EUR/100 kg (-0.2 %), Cheddar 371 EUR/100 kg (-2.2 %). No change for the WMP price (514 EUR/100 kg).
Raw milk price evolution (up to April 22), weighted average is 44,5 EUR/100 kg.
Spot milk prices in IT at 51.8 c/kg on 24 April.
Feed cost index up with +1 %, while energy cost index decreased with – 3%.
As regards the latest world quotations on 1. 05. 2022: The change compared to 15 days ago: growth in EU butter and SMP and a decrease in WMP and cheddar; NZ-decrease in all 4 commodities, a big drop in WMP price; in the USA butter and SMP price decrease, no change for WMP and growth for cheddar.
Milk prices in March 2022 in NZ: 45.5 EUR/ 100 kg, in the USA: 50.3 EUR/100 kg.
GDT auction (3 May 2022): -8.5 % ; anhydrous milk fat: -12.1 %, butter: -12.5 %, butter milk powder: - 6.1 %, cheddar: -8.6 %, SMP: -6.5 %, WMP : -6.5 %, Lactose: n/r.
