In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the President of the European Parliament has established a number of measures to contain the spread of the virus and to safeguard Parliament's core activities. The current precautionary measures do not affect work on legislative priorities.Core activities are maintained to ensure the smooth running of the institution's legislative, budgetary, and scrutiny functions.
The next AFCO committee meeting is scheduled for 9 December 2021 from 9:00 to 12:00.
The meeting will be held in Brussels and online.

Highlights - Scrutinising implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Facility - Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs

Members from the Committee on Budgets and the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs will hold the 4th Recovery and Resilience Dialogue with Valdis Dombrovskis, Executive Vice-President for an Economy that Works for People and Paolo Gentiloni, Commissioner for Economy.
The focus of the Dialogue will be on the state of play of RRF implementation in particular as regards Commission's assessment of national recovery and resilience plans submitted by Member States and Council implementing decisions, operational arrangements between the Commission and Member States, pre-financing and payments requests, the first assessment by the Commission of milestones and targets and setting up of the RRF Scoreboard.
The Recovery and Resilience Dialogue is organised under Article 26 of the Regulation establishing the Recovery and Resilience Facility to ensure greater transparency and accountability in implementation of the Facility.
The meeting will take place on Monday 13 December, from 20.00 to 22.00.

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the President of the European Parliament has established a number of measures to contain the spread of the virus and to safeguard Parliament's core activities.
The current precautionary measures do not affect work on legislative priorities. Core activities are maintained to ensure the smooth running of the institution's legislative, budgetary, and scrutiny functions.
The meetings allow for remote participation in a virtual environment.
Thus, the next TRAN meeting will take place on Thursday, 13 January 2022 from 09.00 to 12.00 in room SPINELLI 1G3 from where it will be webstreamed.

Core activities are maintained to ensure the smooth running of the institution's legislative, budgetary, and scrutiny functions.The last Committee meeting took place on 6 December with an exchange of views on sustainable forestry in developing countries.
On 13 December, the AFET/DEVE/DROI committees will hold a joint exchange of views with the representatives of the 2021 Sakharov Prize laureate Mr Alexei Navalny.
The next DEVE meeting will take place on 13 January 2022.

Highlights - A European Year of Youth 2022 - Committee on Culture and Education

According to an informal deal among co-legislators struck on Monday, the European Year of Youth will focus on renewing positive perspectives for young people after the pandemic.
"Young people are among those who suffered most from negative effects of COVID-19. The European Year of Youth will be a chance to bring their needs to the forefront and a platform for dialogue about the future", said the Culture and Education Committee chair Sabine Verheyen (EPP, DE) who led the Parliament's negotiating team.
"We have made sure that it will be their year: EP negotiators ensured that young people will be involved in the planning process. We also ensured possibility to initiate long-term activities to extend beyond 2022, for young people to engage with the EU and the policymaking. Our negotiation result clearly shows that the young generation is a priority for Europe", she concluded.
