Highlights
EU butter prices: 415 €/100 kg, +3.6% up in last 4 weeks;
EU SMP prices: 263 €/100 kg, +3.1% up in last 4 weeks;
EU WMP prices: 326 €/100 kg, +2.6% up in last 4 weeks;
EU cheddar prices: 326 €/100 kg, +0.6% up in last 4 weeks;
Increase of feed costs (+0.4%) and energy costs (+0.9%) in week 37 compared to the previous 4 weeks;
Decreases of milk products production in Jan.-July 2021: butter (-1.3%), SMP (-4.3%), WMP (-11.2%), fermented milk (-2%) and drinking milk (-0.8%) and increases for: cheese (+2.2%), cream (+1.7%), concentrated milk (+2.8%);
IT spot milk price slightly down, now at 40.3 c/kg. (19/9/2021);
GDT last auction (21/9/2021): general price index up +1%. Price increased for: lactose (+1.3%), SMP (+0.9%), WMP (+2.2%) and decreased for butter (-1.9%), cheddar (-1.2%);
USA is still more price competitive on butter, SMP while Oceania is more competitive on WMP and the EU on cheddar;
China imports increased for all dairy categories in first 7 months of 2021: butter(oil) (+23%), cheese (+44%), SMP (+45%), WMP (+34%), wheypowder (+37%), casein(ate)s (+51%), condensed (+64%) and lactose (+10%);
Cheese exports increased in NZ (+22%), US (+5%), Belarus (+13%, up to June) and AU (+5%).
