Greece’s Borders Must Be Sealed – No More Genocides By Turkey

While Turkey promotes its plans to colonize Greece as it did in Cyprus in a planned and systematic initial phase, the Greek government and political opposition discuss spurious “Confidence Building Measures”, a “multicultural society”, and the “integration of illegal Muslim immigrants in Greek territories, thus essentially enhancing Turkey’s policy.

Moreover, Germany and the rest of our so called “loyal friends and allies» either remain apathetic or support Turkey indirectly or directly in its plans against Greece. It is an established fact that Turkey, in addition to the genocide of the Greeks from 1914 to 1923, has also ethnically cleansed Constantinople (Istanbul), Imbros, Tenedos and Cyprus. It also seeks to dismember Greek territory in the Aegean and Thrace.

According to the United Nations Genocide Convention of December 9, 1948, genocide is defined as the willful destruction or extermination of a part or an entire ethnic, racial or religious group of people and constitutes a crime against humanity.

In accordance with Article 2 of the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide Crime, Genocide is defined by any of the following acts:

1. Killing members of the group;

2. Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;

3. Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; 

4. Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; 

5. Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

In the case of Turkey’s policy towards Greece, the present actions of Turkey as defined by terms 2 and 3 of the UN Convention certainly applies. Turkey has decided to commit genocide against Greek people in a time of peace, as it did in 1914-1923, but this time through other channels and methods.

As long as the political will exists on the part of the government, Greece can thwart Turkey’s plans by taking these three steps: 1. The government must declare the border at the Evros River and Eastern Aegean islands under a State of Siege as defined by Act 566/1977 of Article 8 of the Greek Constitution; 2. The army must assume control of the borders, as in a state of war. In such conditions, the rules of engagement must be clearly defined with regard to guarding the border; 3. The government must announce this decision widely, especially internationally,owing to the fact that that the security of our homeland is of paramount importance.

We Greeks are determined to defend our sacred homeland and do whatever it takes to support the needs of our armed forces. We demand from the Greek Government and the political opposition to immediately cease their disagreements and act in the best interests of the Greek people, in fact to defend the survival of the Greek nation by  putting a stop to Turkey’s plans.
