Honoring Veterans U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia joined the Department's Military Veterans Alliance for a ceremony honoring America's veterans for Veterans Day.

 

#HireVets Secretary Scalia recognized 427 employers from around the nation with the 2019 HIRE Vets Medallion Award for their efforts in recruiting, employing, and retaining America's veterans at a ceremony this week in Washington, D.C.

Mine Safety Good news for mine safety and health: For the fifth consecutive year, no U.S. mines met the criteria for a Pattern of Violations.	Ag Wages Recovered An agricultural employment education and enforcement initiative recovered $422,152 for workers in Southern and Central California.	Ohio Storm Grant The Department awarded an additional $1,560,000 to help dislocated workers in Ohio affected by storms and flooding in February 2018.

	More Job Openings than Job Seekers There were 7 million job openings at the end of September, making it the 19th straight month in which there were more job openings than seekers according to data released this week by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
