AHEPA Family Attends Events at Annual Archon Weekend

Supreme President Jimmy Kokotas and AHEPA Family national officers attended events held during the Annual Archon Weekend in New York City, including the Athenagoras Human Rights Award Dinner, Oct. 8. The gala honored His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, with the Athenagoras Human Rights Award. Daughters of Penelope Grand President Georgette Boulegeris, Chairman of the Board Nicholas A. Karacostas, PSP; Supreme Lodge officers, several Past Supreme Presidents, and Executive Director Basil Mossaidis attended the dinner. Also, Archon Michael Psaros (at left), who is an Ahepan, received the Nicholas J. Bouras Award for Extraordinary Archon Stewardship, Oct. 7. AHEPA congratulates His Beatitude Theodoros II and Brother Psaros on their well-deserved honors and commends the Order of Saint Andrew, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate for hosting a successful weekend of events. Axios! In 1996, the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle presented the Order of AHEPA with its Athenagoras Human Rights Award.

AHEPA Hosts Luncheon for Greek Deputy Defense Minister

AHEPA hosted a luncheon for Greek Deputy Minister of Defense Nikos Chardalias, yesterday, at Metro 29 restaurant in Arlington, Va. Executive Director Basil Mossaidis represented Supreme President Jimmy Kokotas. Representatives from the Embassy of Greece and DC-based Greek American organizations were among the attendees. Deputy Defense Minister Chardalias was in Washington to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Hellenic Pavilion at the annual Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting & Exposition at the Washington Convention Center, where he provided an address. We thank the AHEPA chapters that already have donated and appreciated the interest we have received about how to help.
