Highlights
• EU butter prices: 716 €/100 kg, +0.4% up in last 4 weeks;
• EU SMP prices: 370 €/100 kg, -0.5% up in last 4 weeks;
• EU WMP prices: 484 €/100 kg, -1.1% up in last 4 weeks;
• EU cheddar prices: 468 €/100 kg, +0.5% up in last 4 weeks;
• IT spot milk price up, now at 65.3 c/kg (28/08/2022);
• Decrease of feed costs (-0.4%) and increase of energy costs (+1.1%) in week 34 compared to the previous 4 weeks;
• EU milk deliveries in Jan-Jun 2022 down -0.7% compared to same period last year;
• Production of dairy products in Jan-Jun 2022 compared to Jan-Jun 2021: decrease for concentrated milk (-3.9 %), butter (-2.6 %), SMP (-3.8 %), WMP (-3.2%), drinking milk (-0.7%), fermented milk (-1%) and cheese (-1%); Increase only for cream (+1.7%);
• Compared to June 2021, in June 2022, NZ milk production status quo, US up (+0.2%) and AU down (-9.2%).

Common agricultural policy 2023-2027: Commission approves the first CAP strategic plans
On 31 August 2022, the European Commission formally approved its first CAP strategic plans. These were the plans for Denmark, France, Finland, Ireland, Poland, Portugal and Spain.
