Norway ratifies Agreement on unregulated fishing in the central Arctic Ocean

Revised National Budget: Norway allocates a further NOK 38.2 million to humanitarian efforts

The goal of humanitarian action is to save lives, alleviate suffering and protect human dignity in humanitarian crises. The coronavirus pandemic is making the situation even more difficult for people who are already vulnerable. The Government has therefore proposed increasing the humanitarian budget by NOK 38.2 million in order to address the extraordinary challenges posed by the pandemic.

Revised National Budget: Production tax on the aquaculture industry ensures stable and predictable revenues for the host municipalities

The Government proposes to introduce a production tax on farmed salmon, trout and rainbow trout in the National Budget for 2021. The revenues from the production tax shall be split between regional and local governments. The split of revenues from sales of capacity increase is adjusted.
