Today, we reflect on September 11, 2001

The World Trade Center Health Program Administrator, John Howard, M.D., and the dedicated Program staff pause and reflect to honor those impacted by the disaster that took place on September 11, 2001. Please read Dr. Howard's statement below and join us in a day of remembrance. "Today as a nation, we reflect on the events of September 11, 2001. It was a day of tragic national and personal loss, but also a day that displayed the strength and courage of those who were there. The National 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance is our chance to honor, in both memory and action, all those impacted and to strive for a future where recovery and healing is possible for all. The World Trade Center (WTC) Health Program serves those affected by 9/11 and its aftermath. We are proud to provide quality healthcare to survivors and those who responded in New York City, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, PA. Although the disaster took place 23 years ago, many are still dealing with resulting health issues. We currently serve over 128,000 members, with over 81,000 members diagnosed with one or more certified WTC-related physical and mental health conditions. However, our work does not end here. Over 400,000 individuals are estimated to have been exposed to toxins or other hazards on 9/11. We remain dedicated to supporting our existing members, and we are eager to reach more survivors and responders deserving of care. We also continue to spread awareness of the lasting health effects of 9/11 and share the inspiring stories of healing and resilience of the 9/11 community. We are pleased to announce the traveling version of the “Health Effects of 9/11” exhibition will open at the Flight 93 National Memorial Learning Center in Shanksville, PA later this fall. AHEPA Demands Global Release of 'Famagusta' on Netflix

AHEPA E-News Volume 18, Issue 26 | Wednesday, September 11, 2024 AHEPA Demands Global Release of 'Famagusta' on Netflix Upon news of reports citing Turkish Radio and TV Supreme Council's (RTUK) announcement that popular streaming platform Netflix will no longer be broadcasting "Famagusta," outside of Greece, due to pressure applied by RTUK, Supreme President Savas C. Tsivicos has taken action. Greek-Cypriot co-production "Famagusta" recounts the story of the 1974 invasion of Cyprus, an event that still deeply affects millions of Cypriots today. However, following lobbying efforts from RTUK, Netflix has made the decision to limit the series to air only in Greece, thereby silencing this vital chapter of history for global audiences. In a letter to Netflix CEO and Greek-American Ted Sarandos, Tsivicos expresses disappointment in Netflix cowering to RTUK's demands to prohibit "Famagusta" from being viewed by a global audience, and points out what a detriment they are doing to the remembrance of Turkey's brutal invasion of the Republic of Cyprus. Roundtables on consolidation: identifying and addressing barriers to integration of market infrastructure and scaling up of investment funds in the EU On 26 September, the European Commission's Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union is organising a workshop that brings together industry stakeholders across the financial landscape on the degree of integration of EU capital markets. This event should help identify any barriers to consolidation, both at the level of integration of market infrastructures and of consolidation and scaling up of investment funds in the EU. ΔΕΛΤΙΟ ΤΥΠΟY   Ηλίας Παπανικολάου    “Open Window”   28 Σεπτεμβρίου – 2 Νοεμβρίου 2024     Ο Εικαστικός Κύκλος ΔΛ παρουσιάζει το Σάββατο 28 Σεπτεμβρίου 2024 την ατομική έκθεση του Ηλία Παπανικολάου με τίτλο «Open Window».             Η σειρά έργων που παρουσιάζονται στην έκθεση είναι κάτι σαν σελίδες ενός ημερολογίου που αφηγούνται στιγμιότυπα μιας θέασης. Οι συνειρμοί είναι ξεκάθαρα καλοκαίρι. Το καλοκαίρι λειτουργεί στην έμπνευσή μου ως μία σταθερά. Τα πράγματα γυμνώνονται το καλοκαίρι και αποκαλύπτονται. Σαν να απλοποιούνται για χάρη της ζωγραφικής μου. Ξεδιπλώνεται η γεωμετρία τους και παίρνουν ζωή με το παραμικρό αεράκι που τα ξεβολεύει.     Το καλοκαίρι με βοηθάει να ζωγραφίζω τους κόσμους που απευθύνω είτε πρόκειται για ένα τοπίο είτε πρόκειται για τις συνθέσεις με τις φιγούρες. Με ενδιαφέρει η καθαρή-διαυγής εικόνα στην τέχνη μου και το στοιχείο της θάλασσας, για παράδειγμα, με τροφοδοτεί με τρόπο ανεξάντλητο ως καλλιτέχνη. Έχει αυτήν τη ρευστότητα η θάλασσα και φτιάχνει χώρους μέσα στους πίνακές μου με τρόπο που εξυπηρετεί πάντοτε το τελικό αποτέλεσμα που θέλω να φτάσω. Archipelagos’ marine mammal research internships provide an opportunity to join year-round field work on three dedicated research vessels. During day-long or multi-day research trips, the team gathers data on the bioacoustics, behaviour and photo-identification of seven marine mammal species and their respective threats. In this way we identify critical habitats, while also quantifying human and environmental impacts.

‍Σχετικά με το βιβλίο "Η καμπύλη της Μεταπολίτευσης" , εκδ. Επίκεντρο

Το συνέδριο «Η Καμπύλη της Μεταπολίτευσης 1974-2024» που διοργάνωσε ο Κύκλος Ιδεών, σε συνεργασία με το Οικονομικό Φόρουμ των Δελφών, στις 12,13 και 14 Μαΐου 2024, στην Αθήνα (και μάλιστα στο ξενοδοχείο Μεγάλη Βρεταννία που γιορτάζει φέτος την επέτειο των 150 ετών από την έναρξη της λειτουργίας του) ήταν μια πολυφωνική προσέγγιση όλων των πτυχών της Μεταπολίτευσης.


Η Μεταπολίτευση εξετάστηκε ως η στιγμή της μετάβασης από τη δικτατορία στην κοινοβουλευτική δημοκρατία αλλά και ως περίοδος που αρχίζει το 1974 και διαρκεί έως σήμερα παρά τις σημαντικές αλλαγές που έχουν συντελεστεί σε διεθνές και εθνικό επίπεδο, στις οποίες όμως δεν περιλαμβάνεται μια τομή ιστορικά εφάμιλλη του καταγωγικού γεγονότος του 1974. Αυτήν την ιδιότητα δεν τη διέθετε ούτε η οικονομική κρίση η οποία παρά τη σημαντική επίδρασή της στη διαστρωμάτωση και τις συμπεριφορές της ελληνικής κοινωνίας και στο κομματικό σύστημα, εντέλει επιβεβαίωσε τις θεμελιώδεις επιλογές της Μεταπολίτευσης, τη συμμετοχή στην ΕΕ και την ευρωζώνη και κατά βάθος το κεκτημένο της φιλελεύθερης δημοκρατίας.


Ήδη κυκλοφόρησε από τον εκδοτικό οίκο «Επίκεντρο» ο ομότιτλος τόμος με τα πλήρη πρακτικά του συνεδρίου. Στο βιβλίο περιλαμβάνονται όλες οι εισηγήσεις, οι παρεμβάσεις και συζητήσεις που πραγματοποιήθηκαν ανα ενότητα, καθώς και φωτογραφικό υλικό. Για κάθε ενότητα- κύκλο συζήτησης το σχετικό QR CODE οδηγεί στο video της συζήτησης αλλά και των πολιτιστικών γεγονότων που είχαν ενταχθεί στο πρόγραμμα του συνεδρίου.

The European Union supports a just peace because the UN charter must be the backbone of international law. We support President Zelenskyy's Peace Formula as well as the rules based international order, and we firmly support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and every other nation around the world. We will continue to assist you in rallying support for your peace plan based on these fundamental principles. Dear Ukrainians, the EU is your home. That is why we are determined to support you for as long as it takes with military, financial and political support. We will continue to rally the international community to isolate Russia and to show the world that the Kremlin's behaviour is extremely dangerous for all of us. Ειδικό εποχικό βοήθημα ΔΥΠΑ

Μπορείτε να κάνετε ηλεκτρονικά αίτηση για το ειδικό εποχικό βοήθημα, αρκεί να εργάζεστε στην Ελλάδα και να υπάγεστε στην υποχρεωτική ασφάλιση ΕΦΚΑ (πρώην ΙΚΑ – ΕΤΑΜ).

Θα χρειαστείτε τους προσωπικούς σας κωδικούς πρόσβασης στο Taxisnet.

Το ειδικό εποχικό βοήθημα παρέχεται σε συγκεκριμένες κατηγορίες επαγγελμάτων. 

Η υποβολή αιτήσεων ξεκινά τη Τρίτη 10.09.2024 στις 18:00 και λήγει το Σάββατο  30.11.2024 στις 14:00.

• Γενικά
  1. Δικαιούχοι του ειδικού εποχικού βοηθήματος είναι τα άτομα που παρέχουν εργασία στην Ελλάδα, εφόσον υπάγονται στην υποχρεωτική ασφάλιση του e-ΕΦΚΑ (τ. ΙΚΑ-ΕΤΑΜ) και ασκούν ένα από τα κάτωθι επαγγέλματα:
  
  οικοδόμου, λατόμου, ασβεστοποιού, πλινθοποιού, αγγειοπλάστη, δασεργάτη, ρητινοσυλλέκτη, καπνεργάτη, μουσικού μέλους του οικείου επαγγελματικού σωματείου, υποδηματεργάτη, μισθωτού ναυπηγοεπισκευαστικής ζώνης, χειριστή εκσκαπτικών, ανυψωτικών, οδοποιητικών, γεωτρητικών μηχανημάτων, ηθοποιού, τεχνικού κινηματογράφου και τηλεόρασης, χειριστή και βοηθού χειριστή κινηματογράφου, ελεγκτή κινηματογράφου και θεάτρου, ταμία κινηματογράφου και θεάτρου, μισθωτού τουριστικού και επισιτιστικού κλάδου, σμυριδεργάτη, ταξιθέτου θεάτρου - κινηματογράφου, χορευτή - μέλους των οικείων κλαδικών ή ομοιοεπαγγελματικών σωματείων, καθώς και τεχνικού απασχολούμενου σε ζωντανές οπτικοακουστικές εκδηλώσεις - μέλους των οικείων κλαδικών ή ομοιοεπαγγελματικών σωματείων.
  
  Δικαιούχοι είναι και:οι μισθωτοί της ναυπ/κής ζώνης, εφόσον υπάγονται στην υποχρεωτική ασφάλιση e-ΕΦΚΑ (πρώην ΙΚΑ – ΕΤΑΜ), όταν παρέχουν την εργασία τους σε επιχειρήσεις με έδρα στην Ελλάδα και δραστηριότητες σε μία ή περισσότερες χώρες – μέλη της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης.
  οι ασφαλισμένοι που έχουν παραχωρηθεί από επιχειρήσεις προσωρινής απασχόλησης για να εργαστούν σε έμμεσους εργοδότες, οι οποίοι δραστηριοποιούνται στον τουριστικό και επισιτιστικό κλάδο (όπως προκύπτει από τον ΚΑΔ στον ατομικό λογαριασμό ασφάλισής τους), εφόσον πληρούν τις λοιπές προϋποθέσεις χορήγησης του βοηθήματος.
  
  2. Συνταξιούχοι, οι οποίοι υπέβαλαν αίτηση συνταξιοδότησης μέχρι και την 10.9.2024 δεν είναι δικαιούχοι της παροχής. Όσοι καθίστανται συνταξιούχοι από 11.9.2024 και μετά, εφόσον πληρούν τις προϋποθέσεις, είναι δικαιούχοι του βοηθήματος.
  
  3. Δεν είναι δικαιούχοι όσοι υπηρετούν στις 10.09.2024 τη στρατιωτική τους θητεία. Αντιθέτως, όσοι κατετάγησαν προκειμένου να υπηρετήσουν την στρατιωτική τους θητεία από 11.9.2024 και μετά είναι δικαιούχοι, εφόσον πληρούν και τις λοιπές προϋποθέσεις.
