Vinted will be represented by Jessie de la Merced (Vice-President of Corporate Affairs), Elena Vėgėlytė (General Counsel) and Aurelija Plėtienė (Senior Director of Trust & Safety). From Bol, the representatives are Jorn Palm (Chief Legal Officer) and Jeroen van Deurzen (Director of Platform Quality). Safety and cyber security risks posed by advanced AI systems such as Mythos 14.30 on Wednesday IMCO Members will discuss the rapid and worrisome advances that are being made in the field of AI. Namely, new highly capable systems, such as Anthropic’s latest development Claude Mythos, are shifting the online threat landscape and cybersecurity balance – they make cyberattacks faster, cheaper and scalable even for non-experts. MEPs will discuss the urgent emerging challenges and look for ways to deal with risks. Consequences of the energy crisis +/- 11.30 on Thursday To address the growing concerns about Europe’s energy supplies that are affected by the conflict in Iran and in the Strait of Hormuz, Members will debate potential crisis strategies and ways to minimise consequences for businesses and consumers. Representatives from the Commission, BEUC and BusinessEurope will participate. Structured dialogue with Commissioner McGrath 9.00 on Thursday As part of the regular structured dialogues with Commissioners, IMCO Members will discuss the future of consumer protection with Mr Michael McGrath, Commissioner for Democracy, Justice, the Rule of Law and Consumer Protection. The Commissioner will also update the Members on ongoing and planned initiatives as well as the implementation of adopted rules belonging to the IMCO committee remit. One Europe, One Market roadmap 15.30 on Wednesday IMCO has invited Commission Vice-President Stéphane Séjourné and the Cyprus Presidency of the Council to discuss the “One Europe, One Market” roadmap that the three EU institutions signed on 24 April 2026. The roadmap outlines concrete measures to enhance Europe’s competitiveness as well as priorities and timelines. Το Βραβείο Δημοσιογραφίας Daphne Caruana Galizia απονέμεται κάθε χρόνο περίπου στις 16 Οκτωβρίου, ημερομηνία δολοφονίας της δημοσιογράφου. Το βραβείο απονέμεται κάθε χρόνο για εξαιρετικά ρεπορτάζ που προωθούν ή υπερασπίζονται τις θεμελιώδεις αρχές και αξίες της ΕΕ, όπως η αξιοπρέπεια του ανθρώπου, η ελευθερία, η δημοκρατία, η ισότητα, το κράτος δικαίου και τα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα. Η πρόεδρος του Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου, Roberta Metsola, δήλωσε: «Εννέα χρόνια μετά τη βάναυση δολοφονία της Daphne Caruana Galizia, δημοσιογράφοι σε όλο τον κόσμο συνεχίζουν να εκφοβίζονται, να απειλούνται και να δολοφονούνται. Το Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο στέκεται στο πλευρό τους στον αγώνα τους για δικαιοσύνη. Το βραβείο που απονέμουμε στη μνήμη της Daphne παραμένει ισχυρό σύμβολο αυτής της ακλόνητης δέσμευσης. Τιμάει τα θαρραλέα εκείνα άτομα που τολμούν να φέρουν την αλήθεια στο φως, ακόμα και στις πιο σκοτεινές εποχές. Η ελευθερία του λόγου είναι σημαντική, ενλώ χωρίς την ελευθερία του Τύπου, δεν μπορεί να διαφυλαχθεί η ίδια η δημοκρατία.» Το βραβείο είναι ανοιχτό σε επαγγελματίες δημοσιογράφους, είτε ατομικά είτε ομαδικά, από οποιαδήποτε χώρα του κόσμου. Δεκτές γίνονται έρευνες και ρεπορτάζ που έχουν δημοσιευτεί ή μεταδοθεί σε μέσα ενημέρωσης που έχουν την έδρα τους σε οποιοδήποτε από τα 27 κράτη μέλη της ΕΕ. Στόχος του βραβείου είναι να υποστηριχθεί και να αναδειχθεί η σημασία της επαγγελματικής δημοσιογραφίας για τη διασφάλιση της ανθρώπινης αξιοπρέπειας, της ελευθερίας, της δημοκρατίας, της ισότητας, του κράτους δικαίου και των ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων. Το αποτέλεσμα καθορίζεται από ανεξάρτητη επιτροπή που αποτελείται από εκπροσώπους του Τύπου και της κοινωνίας των πολιτών από τα 27 κράτη μέλη, καθώς και εκπροσώπους των μεγαλύτερων δημοσιογραφικών ενώσεων της Ευρώπης. Η τελετή απονομής του βραβείου διοργανώνεται κάθε χρόνο γύρω στις 16 Οκτωβρίου, ημερομηνία δολοφονίας της Daphne Caruana Galizia. Το βραβείο, το οποίο συνοδεύεται από χρηματικό έπαθλο ύψους 20.000 ευρώ, αποδεικνύει έμπρακτα τη στήριξη που παρέχει το Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο στην ερευνητική δημοσιογραφία και τη μεγάλη σημασία που αποδίδει στην ελευθερία του Τύπου. Τα τελευταία χρόνια το Κοινοβούλιο έχει κρούσει τον κώδωνα του κινδύνου για τις προσπάθειες που γίνονται, τόσο εντός όσο και εκτός ΕΕ, να υπονομευτεί η πολυφωνία των μέσων ενημέρωσης. Το Κοινοβούλιο έχει καταγγείλει επανειλημμένα τις απόπειρες να περιοριστεί η ελευθερία των μέσων ενημέρωσης, ιδίως τις επιθέσεις εις βάρος δημοσιογράφων σε όλες τους τις μορφές και ανεξαρτήτως προέλευσης. Η πιο πρόσφατη τέτοια καταγγελία περιλαμβάνεται στις εκθέσεις του Απριλίου του 2026, στις οποίες το Κοινοβούλιο αξιολογεί τις εξελίξεις στους τομείς των θεμελιωδών δικαιωμάτων και του κράτους δικαίου. Οι ευρωβουλευτές διαδραμάτισαν επίσης καθοριστικό ρόλο στη θέσπιση του ευρωπαϊκού κανονισμού για την ελευθερία των μέσων ενημέρωσης. Ο εξαιρετικά σημαντικός αυτός κανονισμός, που στόχο έχει να προστατεύσει την ελευθερία του Τύπου, καθώς και την ασφάλεια και την ανεξαρτησία των δημοσιογράφων, τέθηκε σε ισχύ τον Μάιο του 2024 και οι περισσότερες διατάξεις του βρίσκονται σε εφαρμογή από τον Αύγουστο του 2025. Επί σειρά ετών το Κοινοβούλιο ζητούσε επίσης να θεσπιστούν κανόνες ώστε να προστατεύονται οι δημοσιογράφοι και η κοινωνία των πολιτών από κακόβουλες αγωγές εις βάρος επικριτικών φωνών. Οι προσπάθειες του Κοινοβουλίου συνέβαλαν ώστε να εγκριθεί τελικά τον Φεβρουάριο του 2024 η οδηγία της ΕΕ κατά των στρατηγικών αγωγών προς αποθάρρυνση της συμμετοχής του κοινού («SLAPPs»), η οποία θα πρέπει να έχει μεταφερθεί στο εθνικό δίκαιο των κρατών μελών μέχρι τις 7 Μαΐου 2026. Έρευνες που έχουν βραβευτεί στο παρελθόν 2021 - «The Pegasus Project», με συντονιστή το Forbidden Stories 2022 - Ντοκιμαντέρ με τίτλο «Η Κεντροαφρικανική Δημοκρατία υπό ρωσική επιρροή» των Clément Di Roma και Carol Valade (ARTE/France24/Le Monde) 2023 - Συλλογική έρευνα για το ναυάγιο της Πύλου (Solomon, σε συνεργασία με την ομάδα Forensis, την εκπομπή StrgF του γερμανικού κρατικού καναλιού ARD και την εφημερίδα The Guardian) 2024 - Έρευνα για τα αγνοούμενα ασυνόδευτα παιδιά μετανάστες (Lost in Europe) 2025 – Έρευνα για τον σκιώδη ρωσικό στόλο, με συντονιστή την πλατφόρμα Follow the Money Στιγμιότυπα από το σεμινάριο «Daphne Caruana Galizia» που διοργανώθηκε το 2025 για εκπροσώπους των ΜΜΕ Ποια ήταν η Daphne Caruana Galizia; Η Daphne Caruana Galizia ήταν Μαλτέζα δημοσιογράφος, μπλόγκερ και ακτιβίστρια ενάντια στη διαφθορά. Είχε πραγματοποιήσει εκτενή ρεπορτάζ με θέματα τη διαφθορά, το ξέπλυμα βρώμικου χρήματος, το οργανωμένο έγκλημα, την πώληση «χρυσών διαβατηρίων» σε υπηκόους τρίτων χωρών, καθώς και την εμπλοκή της μαλτέζικης κυβέρνησης στο σκάνδαλο των «Panama Papers». Η δημοσιογράφος είχε δεχτεί επανειλημμένως παρενοχλήσεις και απειλές. Δολοφονήθηκε στις 16 Οκτωβρίου του 2017, όταν εξερράγη βόμβα που είχε τοποθετηθεί στο αυτοκίνητό της. Η κατακραυγή για τον τρόπο με τον οποίο χειρίστηκαν οι αρχές της χώρας τη διερεύνηση της δολοφονίας οδήγησε τελικά στην παραίτηση του πρωθυπουργού της Μάλτας, Joseph Muscat. Εκφράζοντας την αποδοκιμασία τους για τις παραλείψεις κατά τη διεξαγωγή των ερευνών, τον Δεκέμβριο του 2019 οι ευρωβουλευτές κάλεσαν την Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή να αναλάβει δράση.  Το Βραβείο Daphne Caruana Galizia Prize απονέμεται κάθε χρόνο περίπου στις 16 Οκτωβρίου, επέτειο της δολοφονίας της δημοσιογράφου ©ΕΚ
