Department of Commerce Posts 2nd Quarter Gross Domestic Product to the Blockchain August 28, 2025 The Department of Commerce announced that it will begin posting real gross domestic product (GDP) data on the blockchain beginning with the July 2025 data. GDP increased at an annual rate of 3.3 percent in July 2025 according to the revised estimates released by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. This is the first time a federal agency has published economic statistical data like this on the blockchain, and the latest way the Department is utilizing innovative technology to protect federal data and promote public use. Department of Commerce Takes Action Against the Biden Administration’s Unlawfully Established Operator of the National Semiconductor Technology Center, “Natcast” August 25, 2025 Secretary Howard Lutnick announced that effective immediately, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will assume operational responsibility for the National Semiconductor Technology Center (NSTC) from the National Center for the Advancement of Semiconductor Technology Center (Natcast).
