Message from the Supreme President Brothers and Sisters of the AHEPA Family,          I want to send my sincerest welcome and greeting to the entire AHEPA Family! It is my distinct honor to represent the Sons of Pericles and I want to thank the Brothers who have entrusted me and the entire Lodge for this upcoming term. Since the Order of the Sons of Pericles was created in 1926, many influential men have held this position. I hope to honor their legacy while leading the organization forward. Likewise, our other Orders are in such great hands, with Brother Loucas, Sister Thomas, and Sister Tsaprailis leading the AHEPA, Daughters of Penelope, and Maids of Athena, respectively. I look forward to working alongside these remarkable people.        The Sons of Pericles are hitting the ground running this new term. Governors' Conference is already shaping up to be a huge success, with our hotel blocks selling out and an unprecedented turnout of Sons attendees already committed. We look forward to building on the existing relationship(s) with our older Brothers and creating new ones throughout the year. True to our group's tradition, the Sons of Pericles and Maids of Athena remain strongly committed to raising money for our National Project. This year's National Project is "Το Χαμόγελο του παιδιού" (The Smile of the Child)- a child welfare organization based in Athens Greece. We believe this national project will allow all of our members across United States, Canada, and Greece to be invested in our cause.        We are encouraged by the positive trajectory of our Order and are excited that our cohesiveness with the other Orders will enable us to reach greater heights as an AHEPA Family. Supreme Convention Wrap Up   The AHEPA family Supreme Convention took place in Atlantic City, New Jersey from July 22-28th. It was a week full of fun and very important discussions. The meetings were held across several days and featured a wide variety of topics, from the wildfires in Greece to electing new officials for each organization. It was truly a very important week not only for the organizations but for Greece, as every branch of the AHEPA family took action and made donations to help fight the wildfires ravaging Greece.               For the Sons Of Pericles it was also an all around productive week, as we had representatives from 11 chapters involved in our deliberations. These chapters ranged from Calgary, Canada to Albany, New York. Our topics of conversation were just as diverse, they included organization growth, membership retention, athletic events, end of year reports from our previous officers, our national project for this year (Smile of A Child), and elections of our incoming officers.   The week was not only successful from a professional standpoint, but also successful on a social level. Throughout the week we had our members participate in various events including, beach volleyball, a pool party, nightlife events for those of age, a poker tournament, sightseeing, and much more. Everyone that came had a great time and learned valuable information that they could use to not only benefit our organization on a national level but also on the local level. We would like to thank all who came out for the week and we invite you to our next event, Governor's Conference in our nation's capital. Introducing the 2018-2019 Supreme Lodge The Sons of Pericles Supreme Lodge of 2018-2019 is comprised of a group of young men dedicated to perpetuating the ideals of the Order. Together, they plan to make sure this year goes down in history as one of the best on record.   Supreme President Gregory Vourloumis hails from Atlanta, Georgia, the birthplace of AHEPA as a whole. A past president of Adelphi Ch. 86, he has numerous plans for expansion and the overall betterment of the Sons of Pericles. Having reactivated his home Chapter, he brings years of leadership experience to the lodge.   The remainder of the lodge is comprised of Supreme Vice President Fred Docous of Albany, New York; Supreme Secretary Paul Pavlakos of Perth Amboy, New Jersey; Supreme Treasurer Timothy Noitsis of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Supreme Governors Ryan Marinos of Atlanta, Georgia, and Dimitris Raptis of Athens, Greece; and Supreme Athletic Director Chris Tavantzis, of East Elmhurst, New York. They are once again being advised by the AHEPA Supreme Advisor, SOP Past Supreme President Sandy Papadopoulos, of Atlanta, Georgia.   Each member of this year's lodge has been elected or appointed after making an impact on the Order as a whole. Brother Fred comes from one of the most active Chapters in our order and has seen first hand how much of a difference it makes to have the support of the entire AHEPA family behind you. Brother Paul has played a large part in the reactivation of District Two and hopes to help brothers both nationally and internationally focus on expansion and inclusiveness. Brother Tim is the first lodge member we've had from Canada in years, and with his help, we hope to not just strengthen our Canadian chapters, but make sure that our Canadian brothers are better represented as a whole. Brother Ryan serves as an example of how the Sons of Pericles inspires. Following in Brother Greg's footsteps, he's served as president of the Atlanta Sons of Pericles and has taken the initiative to get involved on a National level and will be integral in encouraging more of our membership to do the same.   For the first time, the Sons of Pericles have elected a Supreme Lodge member from Greece. Brother Dimitris will help oversee and govern the SOP in Greece and the rest of Europe, as well as give us a deeper understanding of international relations. Brother Dimitris is already representing the SOP on AHEPA Supreme President Loucas' excursion to Greece and the areas affected by the horrific wildfires and will be reporting to the Lodge with suggestions on what else the Sons of Pericles can do to help relief efforts.   The entirety of our Supreme Lodge is at your service and available to answer any questions you may have about our programs throughout the year, or to help you start or reactivate a Chapter of the Sons of Pericles in your Districts. National Project

This year, our national project is The Smile of the Child (Το Χαμόγελο του Παιδιού). "The Smile" is a voluntary non-profit organization in Greece which supports children who are victims of violence, poverty, are missing, or have health problems. For over 20 years this international organization has undertaken important pioneering initiatives, presented significant know-how and working operating models to other international network members, resulting in extensive recognition and appreciation abroad. Working together with the Maids of Athena, we hope to raise awareness for these children and support them in every way we can.      Stay tuned for more information. Message From Supreme Governor of Europe, Dimitris Raptis Dear Brothers and Sisters,   I couldn't be more honoured to address the Order from the position of the European Supreme Governor of the Sons of Pericles. I believe that together with the brothers of the Supreme Lodge and under the lead of our Supreme President, Br. Gregory Vourloumis, we will achieve great things this year and succeed in all of our goals.   As it comes to my tasks and responsibilities in District 25-Hellas, I am committed to re-establishing Thessaloniki's Chapter and working with the Maids of Athena to establish a sister chapter in Athens. Those two are indeed difficult goals to achieve taking into account the very fluid state which Greece is in at the moment and the different priorities young people our age have for their lives.   However, I am positive and I believe that with the help of our brothers in Greece we will accomplish our goals for the betterment of our Order and the growth of the Sons of Pericles and the AHEPA family. I am really looking forward to see our Order grow and I am excited for this year's activities and projects.

Greeks in Cleveland We are re-introducing Greeks in Cleveland this October 19-21! Join us and help kick-off the SOP year in Ohio for a great weekend with Sons and Maids alike.
