NATO Secretary General visits Italy Today, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg met with the newly elected Italian Prime Minister, Ms. Giorgia Meloni, in Rome. The Secretary General welcomed Prime Minister Meloni’s “strong, personal commitment to NATO, to our transatlantic Alliance between North America and Europe” and said that ''it is important that we work closely together, especially at this crucial moment for our security.''

NATO develops technology to help catch terrorists What if we could protect public spaces – airports, train stations and other transit hubs – without imposing burdensome restrictions? Scientists from NATO and partner countries have worked together to find a new way of detecting terrorists in crowded places, remotely and in real time, without disrupting the flow of pedestrians. The DEXTER (Detection of EXplosives and firearms to counter TERrorism) Programme, as it’s known, is a flagship initiative of the NATO Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme. ● Council of the EU   11/11/2022 01:21 | Press release | ‘Fit for 55’: provisional agreement sets ambitious carbon removal targets in the land use land use change and forestry sector   The Council and the European Parliament have reached a provisional political agreement on strengthening the contribution of the land use, land use change and forestry (LULUCF) sector to the EU’s increased overall climate ambition for 2030. Pending formal adoption, the Council and Parliament set an overall EU-level objective of 310 Mt CO2 equivalent of net removals in the LULUCF sector in 2030. The LULUCF sector covers the use of soils, trees, plants, biomass and timber and is responsible for both emitting and absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere. The objective is to progressively increase absorptions and reduce emissions so that the EU-wide objective is reached.

«Όλοι οι Έλληνες γνωρίζουν ότι αυτή η κυβέρνηση έχει σκύψει πάνω στα πραγματικά προβλήματα της κοινωνίας. Ότι μάς ενδιαφέρουν τα έργα και όχι τα λόγια. Ότι μπορούμε να παράγουμε μετρήσιμο αποτέλεσμα το οποίο εκτιμάται από τους πολίτες. Ότι είμαστε εδώ για να εξασφαλίσουμε την ευημερία όλης της κοινωνίας, αλλά να είμαστε και σίγουροι ότι κανείς δεν θα μείνει πίσω σε αυτή τη μεγάλη προσπάθεια την οποία έχουμε ξεκινήσει», τόνισε ο Πρωθυπουργός Κυριάκος Μητσοτάκης σε πολίτες που είχαν συγκεντρωθεί για να τον υποδεχτούν στην κεντρική πλατεία της Κατερίνης.

Σεισμικές έρευνες για τη διερεύνηση κοιτασμάτων φυσικού αερίου νοτιοδυτικά της Πελοποννήσου και της Κρήτης.

Η Κυβέρνηση έχει εκπονήσει και πραγματοποιεί ένα λεπτομερές και άρτιο σχέδιο, μέσω του οποίου επιτυγχάνεται η έμπρακτη κατοχύρωση των κυριαρχικών μας δικαιωμάτων και προσφέρονται νέες γεωστρατηγικές και οικονομικές δυνατότητες στην Ελλάδα. Η χώρα μας έχει θέσει ως στόχο της να κατακτήσει σύντομα ενεργειακή αυτάρκεια και αυτοδυναμία, γεγονός που θα μας επιτρέψει να κινηθούμε στο μέλλον με διαφορετικό τρόπο σε κάθε επίπεδο. Η Κυβέρνηση πραγματώνει ένα όραμα δεκαετιών και προσπαθεί να απαντήσει στις τεράστιες διεθνείς κρίσεις και στις προκλήσεις που υπάρχουν με έργα, με πράξεις και όχι με ασυνάρτητες τοποθετήσεις.

Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs to discuss energy issues, the Atlantic Loop, and other shared priorities. The Prime Minister was also in Oromocto to announce new federal funding to help connect rural homes across Canada to high-speed Internet, including more than 16,000 homes in New Brunswick.

The Prime Minister and the Premier discussed ways the federal and provincial governments can continue to work together to improve energy security and resiliency while reducing costs for consumers by supporting a clean electric grid in Atlantic Canada. The leaders spoke about small modular reactors, liquified natural gas, and the importance of continued collaboration on the Atlantic Loop to support the phase-out of coal, achieve net-zero, ensure energy security, and create new opportunities for people and businesses in the region.

The leaders also discussed the importance of protecting language rights and official bilingualism in the province and strengthening health care.

Prime Minister Trudeau and Premier Higgs agreed to keep working together on these and other shared priorities.

Κάθε μέρα δίνω μάχες για τα νησιά μας. Μάχες σκληρές, γίνομαι δυσάρεστος σε πολλούς γιατί το Αθηνοκεντρικό Κράτος δεν καταλαβαίνει τι σημαίνει να ζει κανείς σε νησί.

Ο ρόλος του κυβερνητικού βουλευτή δεν είναι ρόλος χειροκροτητή ούτε πρέπει να σιωπά.

Για ένα μόνο πράγμα μπορώ να σας διαβεβαιώσω: ότι δίνω αυτές τις μάχες με όλη μου την καρδιά και την ψυχή.

Eσείς θα είστε αυτοί που θα με κρίνετε.

● Council of the EU   10/11/2022 14:32 | Press release | Council presidency and European Parliament provisionally agree not to accept Russian travel documents issued in Ukraine and Georgia   Today, the Council presidency and the European Parliament reached a provisional agreement on a decision on the non-acceptance of Russian travel documents issued in Ukraine and Georgia. The agreed text is subject to approval by the Council and the European Parliament before going through the formal adoption procedure. This decision is a response to Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified military aggression against Ukraine and Russia’s practice of issuing Russian international passports to residents of the occupied regions. It also follows Russia’s unilateral decision to recognise the independence of the Georgian territories of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in 2008. Russian travel documents issued in, or to persons resident in, Russian-occupied regions in Ukraine or breakaway territories in Georgia will not be accepted as valid travel documents for obtaining a visa or crossing the borders of the Schengen area. Russian travel documents issued in these regions are already not recognised, or in the process of not being recognised, by EU member states. This decision aims to set out a common approach, ensure the proper functioning of the external border and common visa policies and safeguard the security of EU member states.
