Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom.

Prime Minister Trudeau and Prime Minister Johnson discussed respective efforts in Canada and the United Kingdom to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, including measures to protect the health and safety of their citizens and to support businesses and workers. They spoke about the priority of rolling out safe and effective vaccines that will save lives.

The two leaders looked forward to working together during the United Kingdom’s 2021 G7 Presidency to advance global responses to the pandemic, to promote gender equality, to protect human rights, and to fight climate change. They discussed their shared goal of ambitious progress at the COP26 climate conference the United Kingdom will host in November in partnership with Italy.

Prime Minister Trudeau and Prime Minister Johnson welcomed the signing of the Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement this past December, which will benefit many workers and businesses, and emphasized the deep and strong partnership between Canada and the United Kingdom.

Aujourd’hui, le premier ministre Justin Trudeau s’est entretenu avec le premier ministre du Royaume-Uni, Boris Johnson.

Le premier ministre Trudeau et le premier ministre Johnson ont discuté des efforts respectifs que le Canada et le Royaume-Uni déploient pour lutter contre la pandémie de COVID-19, y compris des mesures pour protéger la santé et la sécurité de leurs citoyens et pour soutenir les entreprises et les travailleurs. Ils ont parlé de la priorité consistant à déployer des vaccins sûrs et efficaces qui permettront de sauver des vies.

Les deux dirigeants se sont dits impatients de travailler ensemble au cours de la présidence du G7 du Royaume-Uni en 2021, afin de faire progresser les interventions mondiales à l’égard de la pandémie, de promouvoir l’égalité des sexes, de protéger les droits de la personne et de lutter contre les changements climatiques. Ils ont discuté de leur objectif commun de réaliser des progrès ambitieux dans le cadre de la conférence sur le climat COP26, que le Royaume-Uni accueillera conjointement avec l’Italie en novembre.

Le premier ministre Trudeau et le premier ministre Johnson ont salué la signature de l’Accord de continuité commerciale Canada–Royaume-Uni au mois de décembre dernier, lequel sera avantageux pour un grand nombre de travailleurs et d’entreprises, et ont souligné le partenariat étroit et solide qui unit le Canada et le Royaume-Uni.

AHEPA Condemns Rioters' Violence at U.S. Capitol

Supreme President George G. Horiates has issued the following statement: "Our members are proud the ancient Greeks forged the notion of democracy. The ancients believed in the right of self-governance, which is the very foundation of our great nation as adopted by our Founding Fathers.  "During our nearly 100-year history, Ahepans have witnessed many trying events and fought and sacrificed in wars to protect liberty and democratic ideals. "The violence perpetrated by today's rioters at the U.S. Capitol is condemnable, disgusting, and appalling to all who respect and value democratic ideals and institutions and the peaceful transfer of power that is fundamental to democracy. "We urge law and order to be restored, the situation to be resolved peacefully, and for those responsible to be held accountable so that the election certification process and peaceful transition of power can be completed, as it must be."

Εγώ ο μαλακας εφημερευα τριήμερο τα Χριστούγεννα και διήμερο την πρωτοχρονιά. Δεν είδα σύζυγό και παιδί όλες τις γιορτές για να περιθαλψω ασθενείς με covid και σήμερα βλέπω συνωστισμό στις εκκλησίες για τα θεοφάνεια. Δεν ξέρω αν θέλω να κλαψω, να ουρλιάξω η να βρίσω.

Democratic Rep. Madeleine Dean on Thursday joined calls for President Trump's removal from office by means of the Constitution's 25th Amendment. 

"I certainly hope it is [possible]," the Pennsylvania lawmaker said speaking on CNN. "...I think this President has proved himself day after day, month after month, year after year to be unstable and unfit."
