Boston Commemorates AHEPA's Centennial
The City of Boston commemorated AHEPA's centennial anniversary at City Hall, yesterday.
Supreme President Jimmy Kokotas and Board of Trustees Member Alex Geourntas, who serves as Boston's City Clerk, accepted a proclamation celebrating AHEPA's 100 years of service issued by Mayor Michelle Wu, and presented by James Colimon (top), who serves as the city's Manager of International Partnerships.
The Ahepans also received a resolution presented by Boston City Council President Ed Flynn (at right).
"We sincerely thank Mayor Wu, Council President Flynn, city government officials, and especially Brother Geourntas, for recognizing AHEPA's centennial anniversary and community service and for organizing the special presentations," Supreme President Kokotas said.
AHEPA, DOP Executive Directors on Capitol Hill
AHEPA Executive Director Basil Mossaidis and Daughters of Penelope Executive Director Elena Saviolakis went to Capitol Hill on Sept. 29 to meet with members of the Congressional Caucus on Hellenic Issues.
Meetings were held with U.S. Reps. Carolyn Maloney (at right), co-chair, Hellenic Caucus; John Sarbanes, Dina Titus, and Frank Pallone. A scheduled meeting with U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis, co-chair, Hellenic Caucus, had to be postponed due to the congressman's responsibilities in the congressional district due to Hurricane Ian.
