Dear OTT Community,
Since Quique is on a well-deserved holiday, he asked me to give you a sneak preview of our newsletter.
I'm excited to share the exclusive details about the School for Thinktankers 2025. Registrations opened on August 7, unveiling a range of new features that will turn your interest into a decision to attend: a new country, home, and programme! Fundació Bofill and OTT, after an unforgettable experience during the 2024 Annual Conference, decided to continue working together. Therefore, the warm city of Barcelona will host the ninth edition of our global school from February 3rd to the 7th (2025).
This time, we bring you an updated programme with topics, trainers, and methodologies that will significantly contribute to your leadership and performance, whether you are a policy entrepreneur or part of a think tank or foundation. Register and allow yourself to meet and interact with peers and experts worldwide. For more information, please visit the following link.
Now, let's turn our attention to the sustained reflection and exchange of ideas during the Evidence Week 2024. With more than 200 events in 21 countries, this is a crucial platform for generating discussions on the generation, communication, and use of evidence on public issues of interest for Latin America and the Caribbean. Your participation in these spaces or the creation of new ones is invaluable. This annual celebration around data and analysis, which began in 2016 at the initiative of OTT and a group of evidence-informed policy entrepreneurs from Peru, has sustained over time and continues to unite forces and allies. The Instituto Veredas from Brazil joined the initiative in 2020 through the HUB LAC and now co-leads the process.
We also have plenty of new ideas and resources to share and a few job offers, including a position to join my team as a Research and Learning Officer of the On Think Tanks Programme.
Also, I recommend Enrique's article about think tanks "Not influential but useful". You might disagree, but it will make you reflect on the so-demanded impact.
Please share this newsletter with your community.
Until next month, from the voice of a rested Quique,
Estefanía Téran
On Think Tanks Director
