Responding to President Joe Biden’s executive order on worker health and safety, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued stronger guidance on identifying coronavirus exposure risks and implementing a COVID-19 Prevention Program at work.
Stronger Worker Protections
The Wage and Hour Division is ending the Payroll Audit Independent Determination program, which allowed employers to self-report violations and avoid accountability.
HIRE Vets Medallion Award
Starting Jan. 31, the department is accepting applications for the 2021 HIRE Vets Medallion Award, to recognize employers that meet standards for excellence in recruiting, hiring and retaining veterans.
