Secretary General joins meeting of the Coalition of the Willing

On 6 January 2026, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte joined leaders during a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris. The meeting was co-hosted by the President of France Emmanuel Macron, and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Sir Keir Starmer.

NATO Secretary General to visit Croatia

On Monday 12 January 2026, the NATO Secretary General, Mr Mark Rutte, will visit Zagreb, Croatia where he will have bilateral meetings with the President, Mr Zoran Milanović, the Prime Minister, Mr Andrej Plenković, and the Speaker of Parliament, Mr Gordan Jandroković.

13:30 (CET) Joint press conference by the NATO Secretary General with the Prime Minister of Croatia.

Media coverage

  • The joint press conference will be streamed live on the NATO website and will be made available to EBU News Exchange and NATO News on YouTube.
  • A transcript of the Secretary General’s remarks, as well as pictures, will be available on the NATO website. Video will be available for free download from the NATO Multimedia Portal after the event.

NATO Deputy Secretary General to visit Portugal

On 7 and 8 January 2026, the NATO Deputy Secretary General, Ms Radmila Shekerinska, will travel to Porto and Lisbon, Portugal.

Ms Shekerinska will meet with the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, Mr Paulo Rangel, and the Minister of Defence, Mr Nuno Melo, as well as with the President of NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Mr Marcos Perestrello.

On 8 January, she will visit the Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO Headquarters and the NATO Communications & Information Agency. She will also be visiting the Joint Analysis and Lessons Learned Centre.

During her visit, she will also deliver a speech at the Catholic University followed by a Q&A session.

There will be no media opportunity.

Déplacement de la secrétaire générale déléguée de l’OTAN au Portugal

Ces 7 et 8 janvier 2026, la secrétaire générale déléguée de l’OTAN, Mme Radmila Shekerinska, sera à Porto et à Lisbonne, au Portugal.

Elle rencontrera le ministre d’État et ministre des Affaires étrangères, M. Paulo Rangel, le ministre de la Défense, M. Nuno Melo, et le président de l’Assemblée parlementaire de l’OTAN, M. Marcos Perestrello.

Le 8 janvier, elle visitera le quartier général des Forces navales OTAN d’intervention et de soutien ainsi que l’Agence OTAN d'information et de communication. Elle se rendra également au Centre interarmées d’analyse et de retour d’expérience.

En outre, elle prononcera un discours, suivi d’une séance de questions-réponses, à l’Université catholique.

Il n’y aura pas de couverture médias.
