"The Governor delivered an address and laid a wreath at the unveiling of a new memorial in Kings Park.
The Battle of Crete Memorial honours those who lost their lives in World War II during the battle to defend the island of Crete in 1941.
Guest of honour at the ceremony was Mr Arthur Leggett OAM, Western Australia’s oldest surviving ex-prisoner of war, and a soldier who fought at the Battle of Crete.
