| Later in the spring, President and Mrs. Obama stopped by the Obama Presidential Center construction site to check out the progress.

We celebrated “Summertime Chi” with community members at parades and celebrations, like the iconic Bud Billiken Parade on Chicago’s South Side.

In the fall, the Girls Opportunity Alliance team visited programs we support in Tanzania, which help girls to pursue their education and their dreams.

Back in Chicago, Obama Foundation Leaders and neighbors alike joined free monthly public tours to explore the perimeter of the Obama Presidential Center campus as it comes to life.

We marked a major milestone this December with the completion of Home Court, the athletic and programs center at the Obama Presidential Center.

To celebrate the holiday season, President Obama surprised elementary students at a Chicago Public Library storytime.

Thank you for being a part of our community this year. We’ll have a lot to celebrate next year, too, as we prepare to open the Obama Presidential Center in June. We’re grateful to have you along for the ride.
