EU butter prices: 574€/100 kg, -3.5% in the last 4 weeks;
EU SMP prices: 216€/100 kg, -2.6% in the last 4 weeks;
EU WMP prices: 356€/100 kg, -5% in the last 4 weeks;
EU cheddar prices: 439€/100kg, -0.9% in the last 4 weeks;
IT’s spot milk price slightly down, now at 51c/kg (26.10.2025);
Feed cost increased by 1% and energy cost by 0.6% in week 43 compared to the previous 4 weeks;
The USA is more price competitive on butter, SMP & cheddar, while Oceania on WMP;
In Jan-June 2025/24 EU butter exports went up to the USA by 30% and to the UK by 5%, while decreased to China by 11%; EU cheese exports went up to the UK 8%, to the USA 2%;
During the same period, EU SMP exports went down to Algeria 41% but up to the Philippines 18% and to Indonesia 61% ; EU WMP exports decreased to the UK by 9%, to Kuwait by 3%, and to Oman by 4%;
In Jan- June 2025/24, NZ exports increased for butter/(oil) 13%, cheese 25% while decreased for SMP 6% and WMP 5%;
US dairy exports in Jan- June 2025 were up for butter(oil) 148%, cheese 11% and WMP 47%; while were down for SMP 12%;
Chinese imports of butter(oil) (+14%), cheese (+10%), wheypowder (+14%), SMP (+6%), WMP (+2%), and lactose (+19%) were up in Jan- June 2025/24, while imports of caseines (-21%) and condensed (-24%) were down.
