| | | | | Στις 16 και 17 Σεπτεμβρίου, τετραμελής αποστολή του Κοινοβουλίου θα συζητήσει τις φορολογικές πολιτικές, την καταπολέμηση της φοροδιαφυγής και την απλοποίηση της φορολογίας. | Οι συζητήσεις θα εστιάσουν σε επίκαιρα διεθνή φορολογικά ζητήματα και προκλήσεις, όπως η εφαρμογή της μεταρρύθμισης φορολογίας δύο πυλώνων του ΟΟΣΑ, η εφαρμογή κομβικών ευρωπαϊκών νομοθετημάτων στον τομέα της φορολογίας (συμπεριλαμβανομένης της ανταλλαγής φορολογικών πληροφοριών και μέτρων κατά της κατάχρησης των κανόνων), η απλοποίηση των φορολογικών συστημάτων και η βελτίωση της ανταγωνιστικότητας μέσω φορολογικών μέτρων και κινήτρων, καθώς και η φορολόγηση της ενέργειας.Η αποστολή θα συναντηθεί με την πρόεδρο της Βουλής των Αντιπροσώπων και μέλη της Κοινοβουλευτικής Επιτροπής Οικονομικών και Προϋπολογισμού, καθώς και με τον Βοηθό Έφορο Φορολογίας. | | Under the new agreement, EU fishers will be allowed an annual catch of 6,100 tonnes of tuna and other migratory species in Côte d’Ivoire’s fishing zone, over the next four years. | The EU will pay €740,000 per year, of which €305,000 will guarantee access rights to 25 Union tuna purse seiners and seven surface longliners, from Spain, France and Portugal. Another €435,000 will be earmarked to support the development of sustainable fisheries in Côte d’Ivoire, helping to grow the small-scale fisheries and aquaculture sector, improve scientific knowledge and administrative capacity, and enhance infrastructure such as the port of Abidjan. EU shipowners will also have to pay €80 per tonne of catch for the first two years, and €85 per tonne for the final two years. Fishing licences costing €12,000 per tuna seiner per year for the first two years and €12,750 afterwards, and €4,000 per surface longliner per year until 5 June 2027 and €4,250 afterwards will also be due to Côte d’Ivoire authorities. The protocol should contribute to ensuring food security and an adequate supply of fish to EU markets, while also helping Côte d’Ivoire develop its fisheries sector. Another objective is to help to implement control activities and sanctions to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. The protocol also states that the employment and labour conditions of fishers on board EU vessels must be in line with the conditions defined by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Maritime Organization (IMO). This entails freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining, elimination of forced and child labour, and healthy and decent working conditions on board. Finally, the protocol highlights the need to respect the recommendations of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT), to which both the EU and Côte d’Ivoire are affiliated and which manages tuna-like species in the Atlantic Ocean.
Next steps
MEPs from the Committee on Fisheries gave their consent to the new protocol, which will be in place until 2029, by 23 votes in favour, one against and one abstention. The protocol must now be endorsed by Parliament as a whole in a future plenary session.
Background
The fisheries partnership between the EU and Côte d'Ivoire dates back to December 1990. In 2007, it was replaced by the current fisheries partnership agreement, whose protocols are automatically renewed for six-year periods. The current fisheries protocol is applicable from 6 June 2025 to 5 June 2029. |
