Highlights

  • EU butter prices: 711€/100 kg, -0.8% in the last 4 weeks;
  • EU SMP prices: 241€/100 kg, +0.5% in the last 4 weeks;
  • EU WMP prices: 424€/100 kg, -0.1% in the last 4 weeks;
  • EU cheddar prices: 455€/100kg, -0.04% in the last 4 weeks;
  • IT’s spot milk price slightly up to 59.3c/kg (24.08.2025);
  • Feed cost decreased by -0.3% and energy cost by -3.8% in week 34 compared to the previous 4 weeks;
  • In Jan-April 2025/24 EU butter exports went up to the USA by 12% and to the UK by 5%, while decreased to China by 17%; EU cheese exports went up to the UK by 7%, to the USA by 6% and to Japan by 11%;
  • During the same period, EU SMP exports went down to Algeria by 50% but up to Vietnam by 183% and to Indonesia by 107% ; EU WMP exports decreased to Oman by 2% and to Kuwait by 5%, but increased to the UK by 1%;
  • In Jan-April 2025/24, NZ exports increased for butter/(oil) (+11%), cheese (+33%) and SMP (+5%) while decreased for WMP (-3%);
  • US dairy exports in Jan-April 2025 were up for butter(oil) (+178%), cheese (+7%) and WMP (+8%); while were down for SMP (-17%);
  • Chinese imports of butter(oil) (+32%), cheese (+11%), wheypowder (+30%), SMP (+2%), WMP (+3%), and lactose (+14%) were up in Jan-April 2025/24, while imports of caseines (-22%) and condensed (-30%) were down.
