Agricultural markets dashboard – sugar View the latest update Related links EU sugar policy | EU agricultural markets short-term outlook – arable crops Latest update Dashboard: Milk and dairy products Highlights Jan-March 2025 EU cow’s milk collection decreased by -1.9% (-0.8% leap year adjusted); Evolution of EU dairy production in Jan-March 2025: butter (+1.1%), SMP (-3.1%); WMP (+4.9%), condensed (-5.2%), cream (-2.9%), drinking milk (-1.7%), fermented milk (+0.3%), cheese (+0.2%); EU butter prices: 735€/100 kg, +0.6% in the last 4 weeks; EU SMP prices: 246€/100 kg, +0.5% in the last 4 weeks; EU WMP prices: 434€/100 kg, -0.7% in the last 4 weeks; EU cheddar prices: 464€/100kg, +0.7 in the last 4 weeks; IT spot milk up to 57.3c/kg (25.05.2025); Feed cost decreased by -3.8% and energy cost by -1% in week 21 compared to the previous 4 weeks; USA is more price competitive on Butter, Cheddar & SMP Oceania on WMP; In Jan 2025/24 EU butter exports went up to the UK by (+11%), but down to the USA by (-10%) and to Saudia Arabia (-25%); EU cheese exports went up to the UK (+12%) and to Switzerland (+6%); but down to the USA (-1%); During the same period, total EU SMP exports went up by +7%; EU WMP exports increased to Kuwait (+42%);but decreased to the UK (-21%) and Oman (-9%); In Jan 2025/24, NZ exports increased for butter/(oil) (+12%), cheese (+33%), SMP (+1%) and WMP (+8%); US dairy exports in Jan 2025 were up for butter(oil) (+143%), and cheese (+22%) and WMP (+4%); while were down for SMP (-20%); Chinese imports of butter(oil) (+56%) and wheypowder (+20%) were up in Jan 2025/24 while imports of caseines (-53%), condensed (-50%), cheese (-6%), SMP (-24%), WMP (-3%), and lactose (-6%) were down.
