Highlights

  • EU butter prices: 720€/100 kg, -1.5% in the last 4 weeks;
  • EU SMP prices: 256€/100 kg, +0.6% in the last 4 weeks;
  • EU WMP prices: 434€/100 kg, -0.5% in the last 4 weeks;
  • EU cheddar prices: 498€/100kg, +0.6% in the last 4 weeks;
  • IT spot milk down to 56c/kg (23.02.2025);
  • Feed cost increased by +1.8% and energy cost by +0.4% in week 8 compared to the previous 4 weeks;
  • Jan-Dec 2024 EU cow’s milk collection increased by +0.6%; (+0.3% leap year adjusted);
  • Evolution of EU dairy production in Jan-Dec 2024: butter (-1%), SMP (+0.18%); WMP (-2.7%), condensed (+6.7%), cream (+3.6%), drinking milk (+1%), fermented milk (+4.1%), cheese (+2.6%);
  • In Dec 2024, milk production decreased by -1% in AU, -0.5% in the US; while increased by +1.4% in NZ, +4.5% in the UK.
