Iceland donates an additional CHF 200,000 to WTO Fish Fund
Iceland is contributing an additional CHF 200,000 to assist developing members and least-developed country (LDC) members implement the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies.

Over 80 per cent of global merchandise trade is on most-favoured-nation basis
The WTO’s non-discriminatory “most-favoured-nation” (MFN) trading principle, whereby WTO members extend any trade advantage granted to one trading partner to all other partners, remains a cornerstone of global trade. More than four-fifths of international merchandise trade is conducted on this basis despite the proliferation of preferential trade agreements and other trade measures, as demonstrated by a recent WTO working paper.

NEWS ITEM
Advanced trade policy course underway at WTO
A total of 28 government officials from developing WTO member and observer governments started on 20 January an eight-week Advanced Trade Policy Course in Geneva. The training programme aims to enhance participants’ expertise on implementing WTO agreements, elaborating trade policies and to sharpen negotiation skills.
