- EU SMP prices: 262€/100 kg, +1.8% in the last 4 weeks;
- EU WMP prices: 442€/100 kg, +1.7% in the last 4 weeks;
- EU cheddar prices: 447€/100kg, -0.05% in the last 4 weeks;
- IT spot milk price down to 57.5c/kg (29.12.2024);
- Feed cost decreased by -0.2% and energy cost increased by +0.8% in week 1 compared to the previous 4 weeks;
- USA is more price competitive on Butter & Cheddar; EU on SMP and Oceania on WMP;
- In Jan-Sep 2024/23 EU butter exports went up to China by (+16%), to the UK by (+10%) and to the USA by (+35%); EU cheese exports went up to the USA (+11%), but down to Japan (-17%) and to the UK (-2%);
- During the same period, EU SMP exports went up to the Philippines (+60%) ,Algeria (+17%) and to Egypt (+13%); EU WMP exports increased to Oman (+2%) and China (+6%) but decreased to the UK (-14%);
- In Jan-Sep 2024/23, NZ exports decreased for butter/(oil) (-12%), cheese (-4%) and SMP (-1%) while increased for WMP (+2%);
- US dairy exports in Jan-Sep 2024 were up for butter(oil) (+12%), and cheese (+20%); while were down for SMP (-5%) and WMP (-5%);
- Chinese imports of caseines (+38%) and condensed (+10%) were up in Jan-Sep 2024/23 while imports of butter(oil) (-3%), cheese (-3%), SMP (-36%), WMP (-12%), wheypowder (-4%), and lactose (-18%) were down;
- GDT last auction (07.01.2025): general price index -1.4%, with registered price decrease for: AMF (-1.6%), SMP (-2.2%); Lactose (-2.4%) & WMP (-2.1%). and a price increase for butter (+2.6%), BMP (+0.9%) & Cheeses (+1%).
