EU avg. farm gate milk prices increased to 49.6 c/kg in Sep. 2024, +4.3% compared to Aug 2024 and +14.3% compared to Sep 2023; estimated price for Oct 2024: 50.3 c/kg (+1.4%);
Compared to Aug, Sep 2024 milk price was up in US (53c/kg; +11.3%) and in NZ (38.3c/kg; +1.5%).
EU butter prices: 758€/100 kg, -3% in the last 4 weeks;
EU SMP prices: 248€/100 kg, -1.2% in the last 4 weeks;
EU WMP prices: 415€/100 kg, -0.4% in the last 4 weeks;
EU cheddar prices: 418€/100kg, +0.5% in the last 4 weeks;
IT spot milk price is up at 65.8c/kg (03.11.2024);
Feed cost decreased by -1.6% while energy cost increased by +1% in week 44 compared to the previous 4 weeks;
In Jan-July 2024/23 EU butter exports went up to China (+11%), UK (+11%) and USA (+18%); EU cheese exports went up to the USA (+15%), but decreased to Japan (-19%) and UK (-2%);
During the same period, EU SMP exports went up to the Philippines (+80%) , Algeria (+10%) and Egypt (+8%); EU WMP exports increased to Oman (+3%) and China (+2%) but decreased to the UK (-15%);
In Jan-July 2024/23, NZ exports decreased for butter/(oil) (-13%) and cheese (-5%) while increased for SMP (+1%) and WMP (+5%);
US dairy exports in Jan-July 2024 were up for butter(oil) (+2%) and cheese (+23%); while were down for SMP (-8%) and WMP (-9%);
Chinese imports of butter(oil) (+5%), caseines (+39%), and condensed (+8%) were up in Jan-July 2024/23 while imports of cheese (-1%), SMP (-36%), WMP (-9%), wheypowder (-9%), and lactose (-18%) were down.
GDT last auction (05.11.2024): general price index +4.8%, with registered price increase for: AMF (+4.6%), butter (+8.3%), BMP (+2.1),Cheeses (+4%), SMP (+4%) and WMP(+4.4%); and a price decrease for Lactose (-6.1%).
