● Council of the EU   18/10/2024 17:11 | Press release | Forward look: 21 October - 3 November 2024   Overview of the main topics and events at the Council of EU and European Council for the coming fortnight. Agriculture and Fisheries Council, 21-22 October 2024 The Agriculture and Fisheries Council will meet in Luxembourg on 21-22 October 2024. Fisheries ministers will discuss fishing opportunities in the Baltic Sea, with the aim of reaching a political agreement on catch limits for 2025. Additionally, they will also exchange views on the upcoming meeting of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT). As far as agriculture is concerned, the Council will seek to endorse a set of conclusions on a farmer-focused post-2027 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Moreover, the Council will discuss the main challenges the EU food chain is facing, as well as trade-related agricultural issues.
