The first review of the trade policies and practices of Kazakhstan takes place on 25 and 27 September 2024. The basis for the review is a report by the WTO Secretariat and a report by the Government of Kazakhstan.

EU initiates dispute complaint against Chinese anti-subsidy investigation on EU dairy
The European Union has requested WTO dispute consultations with China concerning the initiation by China of an anti-subsidy investigation on certain dairy products from the EU. The request was circulated to WTO members on 25 September.

DDG Ellard opens 7th meeting of UN Committee of Experts on Business and Trade Statistics
WTO Deputy Director-General Angela Ellard highlighted on 24 September the critical role of integrating business and trade statistics in today's rapidly evolving global economy. In opening the 7th meeting of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Business and Trade Statistics, hosted by the WTO, DDG Ellard underscored the ongoing collaboration between the WTO and the UN in advancing statistical methodologies and building capacity in developing economies.

WTO Regional Trade Policy Course kicks off in Togo
The University of Lomé, Togo, is hosting a Regional Trade Policy Course organized by the WTO from 9 September to 1 November. The course aims to provide an overview of the multilateral trading system and the specific challenges facing Francophone Africa. A total of 29 government officials from WTO members and observers in French-speaking Africa are participating in this training initiative.
