- IT’s spot milk price up, now at 63.3 c/kg (01.09.2024);
- Decrease of feed cost by (-4.8%) and of energy cost by (-3.7%) in week 35 compared to the previous 4 weeks;
- Oceania is more price competitive on Butter, WMP & SMP and EU on Cheddar;
- In Jan-May 2024/23 EU butter exports went up to China (+14%) and to the UK (+13%) but decreased to USA (-2%);
- EU cheese exports went up the USA (+18%), Switzerland (+8%);
- During the same period, EU SMP exports went up to Saudia Arabia (+11%) and to Algeria (+17%) but decreased to Egypt (-3%),
- EU WMP exports increased to Oman (+8%), China (+10%) and Kuwait (+56%);
- In Jan-May 2024/23, NZ exports decreased for butter/(oil) (-7%), cheese (-9%) and SMP (-3%), and increased for WMP (+11%);
- US dairy exports in Jan-May 2024 were down for butter(oil) (-17%), SMP (-11%) and WMP (-7%), and up for cheese (+1%);
- Chinese imports of butter(oil) (+8%), cheese (+1%), caseines (+50%), and condensed (+25%) were up in Jan-May 2024/23 while imports of SMP (-34%), WMP (-5%), wheypowder (-16%), and lactose (-14%) were down.
- GDT last auction (03.09.2024): general price index -0.4%, with registered price increase for: AMF (+0.7%), BMP (+8.4%), Cheeses (+0.9%), and SMP (+4.5%); and a price decrease for butter (-0.9%), Lactose (-8.9%), and WMP (-2.5%).
