Satellite data help U.S. Navy meteorologists track, monitor, and forecast tropical cyclones, especially low-latency data from NASA’s Land, Atmosphere Near real-time Capability for Earth observations (LANCE).

image of Hurricane BerylHurricane Beryl’s Path of Precipitation

Hurricane Beryl created a long swath of heavy rainfall as it moved through the Grenadine islands, past Jamaica, and onto the Texas coast, eventually bringing tropical rain to the U.S. Northeast. The path of the storm can be tracked using data from the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission.

Celebrating 10 Years of Global Precipitation Measurement Mission (GPM) Data
September 5, 2024

The September focus of the monthly GPM 10-in-10 webinar series is on GPM data applications. The July (Remote Sensing) and August (Data) webinars featured participation by members of NASA’s Earth Science Data Systems (ESDS) Program. Videos of past webinars are available on the GPM 10-in-10 website.
