- Evolution of EU dairy production in Jan-May 2024/2023: butter (-2.2%), and SMP (-1.5%); WMP (-0.1%), condensed (+6%), cream (+4.9%), drinking milk (+1.4%), fermented milk (+4.9%), cheese (+3.9%);
- EU butter prices: 654€/100 kg, +1.5% in the last 4 weeks;
- EU SMP prices: 235€/100 kg, -2% in the last 4 weeks;
- EU WMP prices: 380€/100 kg, -0.8% in the last 4 weeks;
- EU cheddar prices: 389€/100kg, +0.5% in the last 4 weeks;
- IT spot milk price rising, now at 56.5 c/kg (21.07.2024);
- Feed costs decreased by -2.1% and energy costs by -0.7% in week 29 compared to the previous 4 weeks;
- Oceania is more price competitive on WMP & SMP and US on butter & cheddar;
In Jan-April 2024/23 EU butter exports went up to China (+29%) and to the UK (+15%) but decreased to USA (-13%); - EU cheese exports went up to USA (+18%) and to Switzerland (+10%);
- During the same period, EU SMP exports went up to the Philippines (+156%) and to Algeria (+24%) but decreased to Egypt (-17%),
- EU WMP exports increased to Oman (+22%), China (+14%) and Kuwait (+71%).
