- EU cheddar prices: 387€/100kg, -0.5% in the last 4 weeks;
- IT spot milk price slightly up, now at 54 c/kg (23.06.2024);
- Feed costs decreased by -3.8% while energy costs increased by +1.3% in week 25 compared to the previous 4 weeks;
- US is more price competitive on and cheddar, Oceania on WMP and EU on SMP & butter;
- In Jan-March 2024/23 EU butter exports went up to China (+36%) and to the UK (+12%) but decreased to USA (-21%);
- EU cheese exports went up the USA (+16%) but decreased to Japan (-9%);
- During the same period, EU SMP exports went up to the Philippines (+143%) and to Algeria (+21%) but decreased to Egypt (-20%),
- EU WMP exports increased to Oman (+26%), China (+27%) and Kuwait (+53%);
- In Jan-March 2024/23, NZ exports increased for butter/(oil) (+2%), SMP (+9%), and WMP (+32%); and decreased for cheese (-11%);
- US dairy exports in Jan-March 2024 were down for butter(oil) (-34%) and SMP (-9%), and up for cheese (+22%) and WMP (+26%);
- Chinese imports of WMP (+6%), caseines (+41%), condensed (+48%) and lactose (+9%) were up in Jan-March 2024/23 while imports of cheese (-2%), butter(oil) (-10%), SMP (-29%), and wheypowder (-21%), were down.
