● Eurogroup   08/05/2024 18:23 | Meetings | Agenda highlights - Eurogroup, 13 May 2024   The Eurogroup will assess macroeconomic and budgetary developments and provide a briefing on international meetings. It will also review the state of play and challenges of the euro area banking system, including strategies for enhancing its resilience. Additionally, ministers will discuss innovation gaps and concrete ways to improve competitiveness and productivity in the euro area. Over dinner, ministers will discuss ways to deepen the capital markets union.

● Council of the EU   08/05/2024 18:42 | Meetings | Agenda highlights - Economic and Financial Affairs Council, 14 May 2024   The Council will seek a political agreement on the package on VAT for the digital age and on a proposal on making the relief of excess withholding taxes faster and safer (FASTER). Ministers will discuss the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Facility and aim to approve modified recovery and resilience plans submitted by some member states. Ministers will discuss the economic and financial impact of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. The Council will seek to approve conclusions on financial literacy and on the fiscal sustainability challenges arising from ageing.
