What's New?

A new document descriptor linked to the Digital Markets Act

Following the adoption of the Digital Markets Act (DMA), which aims to make the markets in the digital sector fairer and more contestable, a new document descriptor was created: DMA.

DMA documents fall under category 5, preparatory acts. They are summaries of DMA decisions provided by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition.

Document descriptors are used to build Celex numbers, unique identifiers assigned to most documents on EUR-Lex.

We have added this new descriptor to our table showing the Types of documents on EUR-Lex.

A new look for the homepage banners

Our homepage banners have a new colour scheme, with icons and titles to show you what kind of news we are highlighting in each banner.

The blue 'law in focus' banners will guide you to new legal documents published on EUR-Lex.

The pink 'what's new' banners will tell you about developments on the EUR-Lex website.

The green 'rediscover EUR-Lex' banners will guide you to tips on how to use existing EUR-Lex features.

We have also made some technical improvements so that the banners will be easier to view from your mobile.

A new menu for EUR-Lex developments

The left menu of the EUR-Lex developments section has changed. Instead of years and months, you can now see the page titles in the left menu, making it easier to browse.

Browse by EuroVoc

Did you know that you can browse EUR-Lex content by subject?

EuroVoc is the EU’s multilingual and multidisciplinary thesaurus. It contains keywords, organised into domains and subdomains, which are used to describe the content of documents on EUR-Lex in all 24 official EU languages.

On the EuroVoc page, you can see a search field followed by the 21 EuroVoc domains.

If you already know the term you are looking for, you can enter it into the search field. If not, you can browse the domains, clicking on the plus icons to see subdomains and narrower terms.

Once you have reached the domain or subdomain you are interested in, click on ‘search’ next to it. This will lead you to a document results list, which you can further refine to meet your needs.

Learn more about how to browse by EuroVoc and refine your results in our help pages.
