Dear young media makers,

We are excited to be back with many new and exciting oppportunities and updates.

We just had our first physical Board Meeting in Budapest and have been working hard on the projects for this year. Do not hesitate and become a part of the EYP universe by applying to one of our many opportunities that you can find below.

You will also have the chance to take a look at the work realized by our newly relaunched Orange Magazine or you might even want to become a part of Orange Magazine yourself. All infos on that below.

EYP Executive Board

Our first physical Board Meeting of 2024

Last weekend, the Executive Board convened in the city of Budapest for the first physical Board Meeting of the year. Amidst historic Budapest´s charm, we also enjoyed a dinner with representatives from our local Member organization Due. Febrary´s gathering focused on laying the groundwork for a year of impactful initiatives and stronger community ties. With exciting plans on the horizion, the meeting marked a vibrant and productive start to 2024.

The project

New youth exchange opportunity alert for German residents!
 
Apply now for our youth exchange, travel with us to Estonia and learn everything about advocacy via Oxfordian Debates 💡✏
 
What? Cultivate important skills like advocacy and debate with other international participants during our youth exchange in Estonia and get an insight into the role of European policies 😍
When? 14th-21st of July, 2024
Where? Paikuse, Parnu, Estonia
Who can apply? German residents between 18 and 25 years (participants with fewer opportunities can be up to 30 years old) and a group leader that is at least 18 years old.

Updates of Orange Magazine

Our first blog posts of the year are now live: For EYP's #InclusiveMediaMatters campaign, OM sat down with Alisa Buchinger, Austria's new karate national team coach, for an interview about her life after her career as a professional karateka.

In early February, OM's Team Leader Saskia Reimann and Core Team member Aisling Redden went to the UK to report from the Warwick Economics Summit.

As we have a lot of exciting opportunities coming up at Orange Magazine, we are looking to expand our Core Team. Details on how to apply you can find on our website! The deadline for applications is March 15, 11:59pm CET.

Intercultural media conference
 
What? The Belgian organization "What's Next Media" is hosting an intercultural media conference, "Youth and Media," aiming to address youth underrepresentation in European media. They are actively seeking European organizations interested in collaboration.

When? Late fall 2024.

Who can cooperate? 
European non-profit organizations that share the same values and goals of this project.

What? SoJo Europe is a training, grant and mentoring program that stimulates more solutions journalism.

Who? This grant programme is open to small European media news outlets, especially serving underrepresented groups.

What? Entries can be submitted if they were published between 2 March 2023 and 1 March 2024. The prize is awarded in the categories "News Formats", "Documentary" and "Investigation".
